So stoked that they made it through the pandemic, we have being going to Rainforest Cafe since my kids were little. We have visited almost all in North America and plan on get to the international locations in the next five years. Food is always...great and most of the staff was awesome. No need to go into detail on that but 90% is good in my book. Thank you Galveston for keep our family tradition going.More

The food is pretty pricey but the scenery is so cool. The food wasn’t all that but i think everyone should at least experience the place at least once.

If you want a fun place to eat with the kids then this is the place for you. The animals come to life and there is a fake thunderstorm (no water lol) every 30 or 40 minutes. Be aware some of the animals can be...scary for small children so ask to be seated near the aquarium if you do have little ones just to be safe. When you are done eating....or before...there is a nice sized gift shop and of course the river adventure ride! The ride is actually pretty awesome for all ages but its hard to get a clear picture since you do spin and are always moving. It was the best part of our time at Rainforest Cafe though so be sure to do this one! I knocked off a point for the food. While the staff is super friendly and attentive, the food is merely mediocre. I've had way better food at other places but here it's all about the atmosphere and that's exactly what you're paying for.More

The rainforest adventure ride was fun. Food was good but we felt like the whole place was overrated. We enjoyed it but probably wouldn't go for another visit.

Great Service, fast seating for Landry members, and enjoyed the "Rainforest" especially the kids. Great place for fun quality time.

My party of 6 walked in on New Years Eve at 8 pm and was told the wait would be 45 minutes. Considering that they close at 9 I asked the hostess if that was ok with them and she couldn’t have been more welcoming,...reassuring me that they work business as usual up until closing time. We had time to ride the little river ride and then immediately got a text saying our table was ready. Total wait time 20 minutes. Upon being seated I immediately felt like we may have a bad experience bc our servers consistent answer was “no.” The menu wasn’t appealing to my teenage daughter and she asked if she could just order cheese fries. They weren’t on the menu, but they do have fries and they do have cheese so I assumed they had cheese fries. I ask the server and the answer was no, they are out of melted cheese. My son ordered the fried shrimp and asked if he could substitute the coleslaw for veggies instead. The answer: no but you can substitute the fries for veggies if you want... why? However, after our food was delivered all was redeemed as it was delicious and the service was great throughout the rest of our dining. My husband and I got the blue mountain chicken sandwich and it was one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. My son said his fried shrimp was good but the portion was small and he was still hungry afterwards. His girlfriend ordered the Rasta pasta and she and my son all but licked the plate clean. My daughter said her fries were fine and my youngest ordered two - yes two- kids meals, one with two hamburgers and one with two hot dogs. His eyes were bigger than his stomach but he scarfed down both hot dogs and took the burgers to go, and said they were all delicious. All of this plus 3 soft drinks totaled our bill at $109.80 plus $20 tip.More

Restaurants are usually just places to go for a meal and beverage, but the more memorable restaurants feature a theme of some sort. Rainforest Café is a chain with a theme- a theme of a tropical rain forest. There are several locations around the nation...and the first one I ever visited is Rainforest Café Galveston, located on the Seawall across from the Gulf of Mexico. As anyone who has visited a Rainfirest Café knows, this restaurant chain is like a visit to the tropical rainforest. There are large, make believe animals throughout, but because they are three- dimensional and have movements, they are as close to the real thing as you are likely to experience in any restaurant. Periodically, a storm will strike, complete with the sound of thunder and dimming of the lights, making you feel like you’re in an actual rainforest. Kids love Rainforest Café the most and my girls still love it, even though they are now teenagers. The love the live action and sounds, and the attached gift shop is a great place to get souvenirs for the trip home. The sounds can get to be a bit much, however, so adults need to keep this in mind if they decide to visit. This is not a place for a quiet, stress- free meal. The sound of the waterfall and overall chatter from the kids and others make this a noisier place than most. The food served at Rainforest Café is good, but not outstanding and a little overpriced for what you get. I understand- the prices have to be elevated a little bit to pay for everything. I can only imagine what it must cost to perform maintenance on all these animals, sounds, and props. I usually stick with the nachos, burger, or chicken sandwich when I visit. They are safe, agreeable, and less costly than everything else. For added fun, this Rainforest café location has an adventure ride on the outside, which is an extra plus not found at other locations. And when you’re finished eating, you have the Gulf of Mexico across the street. With its fun theme, Rainforest Café Galveston is a big hit with families and their children and it’s a cool idea for lunch or dinner in this Gulf Coast town.More

Very nice and the food was great. You'll spend most of your time looking at all the sights in the restaurant. Hopefully you'll get to experience the rain show it's wonderful.

My husband and two daughters went to this restaurant knowing they had a pasta meal that was gluten free. Myself and my daughter both have Celiac Disease, which is an auto immune disorder and cannt eat anything with gluten. Finding anything at restaurants without gluten...is difficult enough, but then when you add trying to explain what you have and asking things to be removed or added we normally find ourselves just eating a salad so we don't inconvenience restaurants and their employees. But this restaurant was SO different!! As soon as the waiter heard "Celiac Disease " he very politely said their Chef will need to speak with me. When their Head Chef over the kitchen came out we could already tell this time was going to be different! Head Chef Donnie, explained very enthusiastically that they are prepared to handle any food allergies. Then pointed out that we don't simply need to eat something plain. They will make anything we want! He explained all the gluten free buns they had for sandwiches and even made sure we knew the spinach dip we already ordered had gluten in it but they had two other appetizers he would send out that we could eat! He made us feel welcomed and not a burden!! My daughter was so excited to actually order a chicken sandwich with a bun and French fries!! Which she said was the best chicken sandwich she has had in a long time!! I had pasta with grilled shrimp!! I cannot explain how it felt to feel welcomed, taken care of with such enthusiasm and kindness!! Then on top of that eat AMAZING food!! I really hope everyone goes to this restaurant knowing that from the kitchen to the staff they are incredible!! Thank you Head Chef Donnie for all that you did for our family!! We will absolutely be back!! Sincerely, The Knighton'sMore
