We came here for dinner one night. The Japanese food was very average. There is a sushi bar and the roll that I had was good. Service was pretty slow, but the restaurant was busy. We did not do the Haibatchi tables.

We visited for lunch but have been to dinner many times. Buntin box lunches were great. They keep very clean, not surprising for a Japanese restaurant but welcomed none the less!

This was one of the greatest tasting HIbatchi restaurants we have been to. The steak and shrimp with fried rice was cooked to perfection. We had a very experienced chef that was incredibly funny with many unique tricks we have not seen. I don't want to spoil it here. One stunt left everyone at the table with their mouth open... More

Yamato is a greet place to take the family for entertaining dining destination. The chefs do a great presentation as they prepare the food as you sit at the cooking table. Food itself is good as well.

This is by far one of the better places for sushi that I have ever been to. The hibachi is average. They can get busy! Make a reservation.

totally worth visiting at least once. Sushis are nice, fish is always fresh. Make sure you sit by the big table and order something from the Hibachi menu. The show they put with it is pretty cool. All the food is good, haven't had a bad meal yet!

My wife and I visited Yamato on our anniversary trip to Galveston. It was a Saturday night (8:00 pm) and the place was PACKED. They do take reservations, so if you're planning to visit on a Fri or Sat night, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. We chose to sit at the sushi bar because we could be sat immediately.... More

We LOVE this place. We eat here every week and never tire of it -ever. The sushi is very fresh and the sushi chefs are great! Service is wonderful - even on busy nights. Now, stay away so we still get our good table!!

Nothing special. Like any other Hibachi restaurant we had been to before. We had a reservation at 7:30. At 8:20, while a quarter of my wine glass was still full, without me asking for it, the waitress brought the check. That cost her 5% deduction in her tip.

We've been here many times. It's nothing fancy, but the hibachi is fun and the food is always good. The sushi is excellent, but is sometimes slow coming out. The service is good and very friendly.
