Great food, service and drinks! Nice bartenders. Food is homemade, great selections of local cocktails.

We came here for dinner while in town. I had the chicken sandwich with queso on it. The chicken was tender, and the queso and other toppings were delicious. The fries were good as well. They had a lot of local beers available, which was nice. This place looks like a hole in the wall, but it's worth a visit.

Went for lunch. This place is off the main drag. Had bison sliders, onion rings and Indian rain sticks (batter fried squash). Everything was fresh, service was good. The bar is interesting with buffalo head nickels embedded in the wood. They have a happy hour, beer, wine, whiskey and other cocktails. Recommend.

Sat at the bar and had a great lunch- their burgers are solid! Lynn handled the bar well, throwing drinks our way with good conversation.

The Nickle is our go to place. Just because it has the bar environment the food is a great surprise. Never ate chickens wings, but on Wednesday night 50 cent wings I could not resist. Boy howdy they were awesome. Another time, their tuna steak served as requested rare with the pico topping was so good. The icing on the... More

Bar tender was very friendly & informative. Gave us a lot of information on local beers. The happy hour was a great bargain.

The nickel deserves a higher rating than what shows. This is where the locals go for good food. My wife had the tuna steak (rare) and loved it. I had the Pocahontas salad which was super. We noticed every other couple in the place had a big plate of wings in front of them, must be mighty good. Don't let... More

Conveniently located a few steps south of Main St. About half and half eating and drinking. Hill Country decor. Went specifically for the bison chicken fried steak but they didn't have any at 6:30 pm. Had the regular beef version and it was a little too gristley. Our waiter was quite good but it took 45-50 minutes from order to... More
