Fried catfish and okra were pretty good. However I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was prebattered. Also the onion rings. Expected a cafe to hand batter both. Definitely didn't take much to cook this meal. Wouldn't return.

The chicken fried chicken was ok, not the best i've had. Our son had the hamburger , he said it was good. Our daughter inlaw had the chicken salad which she couldn't eat. She said the lettus was mushey like it had been sitting for a long time.

Service was friendly, food was not that good, silverware was in an basket sitting on the table, forks were dirty until my wife took them to the bathroom to clean them. The only good memory was the picture on the bench out front that had a horses head for arm rests.

This small "hometown" cafe was quaint (retro diner, not a new building trying to look old), but the food was great. There is quite a lot of parking to the east of the diner, with a little out front. It has easy access due to a traffic light on the corner. I ordered the crispy (fried) chicken salad. The chicken... More

I visit the Canyon Lake area every two years and love the "Down Home" food in the area. I go out of my way to the Oak Creek Café for the catfish. The café is very clean and well maintained, the staff are great and friendly. The catfish there is top notch, the fried Okra a must!

Very easy to find, with ample parking, Oak Creek Cafe surpassed our expectations. I ordered a Rueben Sandwich and my bride ordered the Sante Fe hamburger and we were both very pleased with our fare. We cut our sandwiches and half and swapped plates halfway through our meal: It was a nice, sit-down lunch experience.

If you are tired of Austin and want a place that you will not find in Austin to dine and yet still have good and reasonably priced food this is your place. Since I was in Dripping Springs for business, once I found a pretty good place to eat, I thought I'd go there a second time. So, I ate dinner and breakfast there. For dinner, I had the fried shrimp, which were a little overcooked. For breakfast, I had the eggs and bacon....it was pretty filling and very good. Blake was... More

The Texan cheeseburger is 1/2 lb of really good beef with all the trimmings. The cafe is small with a homelike atmosphere. The waiter took good care of us. The only suggestion I have is not to burn candles. My husband has allergies and the candle smell aggravated that.

Description
A great place where the locals go to eat and "chew the fat." Very good food with a limited salad and soup bar. Lots of fun - look at the cartoons on the wall and then look for hthe cartoonist and his subjects.
