This lovely restaurant is certainly reminiscent of a Provençal Bistro Classic deep yellow and blue colors in the table linens and decorative items. The menu is a perfect reflection too with amazing French onion soup, crepes and quiches and other choices. We ordered from the lunch menu. Another stand out was the perfect bread with a dipping sauce of olive... More

I have been to Lavender several times, and will return. But my experience last night was below par.Service is fabulous. That wine list is all you could want if you are seeking French wine. But my wife ordered salmon and it was very, very fishy. We eat salmon two or three times a week, so we know what is fresh... More

We had a big group, 25 or so, so we got the back room. The food was ok and the service friendly. Started with scallops, good. My pork loin was a bit dry. Dessert was apple tart w/ ice cream, ok. Its not fabulous but you get an honest eating experience.

I made a reservation for high tea as it was my mother-in-law's birthday and she is a tea enthusiast. The rate for the tea service was on the lower side of other restaurants I'd contacted, which was a bonus. I arranged for tea service for my mother-in-law and my husband, while I chose something from the menu as I am... More

After visiting Lavendou several times over the last two years, it is sadly time to bid adieu. The saucey entrees, crisp service and Provençal decor have seen better days. Bread and toppings are still good and well stocked. Soups are also good, but on the plain side. Entrees are generously portioned, but plates are often filled with pre-cooked starches and... More

I have to say that the meal that I had in this restaurant was one of the best that I have ever had. It was French country style food. I had Salmon in an eggplant puree. It was delicate and beautiful. My friend had cassoulet that she said was rich and hearty. The wine was nice and the bread was typically wonderful... More

This hidden jewel in north central Dallas is a must place to dine. The menu's are exciting as well as delicious! Just visited this past Saturday (Party of three) where I had none of the best presentations and taste of Lamb ever! The other two were Trout and Fillet of Sole ..... both just as excellent! Our server, Jean Phi,... More

We have a monthly supper club, where a couple picks a restaurant the group has not visited in over a year. Another caveat is that it must 5 miles outside of our smallish Dallas suburb. Last month (September), we visited Lavendou and had a very enjoyable time sampling the French food and wines. Great atmosphere, attentive service staff and many... More

We came from NC, we were very happy with the food. My husband ordered the smoked salmon which he enjoyed very much. I had onion soup, he had ministrom soup. I had the mushroom corrisont it is very flavorful. We shared the crembule. It is big enough for two to share. We like the place, except our waitress does not... More

My wife and I walked into Lavendou for drinks and apps on a whim. I am not typically a fan of restaurants in Dallas strip mall areas but I am sooo glad we did. OUTSTANDING service. REAL NATIVE FRENCH speaking staff. We had the escargot and a mushroom pastry dish and both were awesome. Chocalate soufflé - AMAZING Great and... More

Lavendou, a retreat into the French countryside - a place where life is savored as much as the food. Lavendou is thoroughly French, from the inviting decor to the gracious service and authentic cuisine. But don't expect it to be pretentious. Owner Pascal Cayet is dedicated to providing service that is friendly and efficient. And you will find Chef Francois Soyez's menu to be deliciously approachable. Serving the lighter fare of Southern France, Lavendou offers many items to tempt your taste buds.
