I live in Castroville and this is my all time favorite place to eat. I do enjoy cooking and usually prepare healthy meals; not a big fast food fan! This place offers you many choices and serves fresh food. My stomach and I have never left this place unhappy.

Great looking lunch sandwiches... Mine was the only choice that was mediocre. Grilled cheese on Texas toast was very plain, despite the (very tiny) slice of tomato I requested. The olives on toothpicks didn't do it either. The restaurant is located in great old Texas house, complete with high ceilings and transom windows. Located in the center of lovely Castroville.

We have eaten here on several occasions. it has always been excellent. Last night the grilled salmon was delicious. The vegetables tasted very fresh. i did not eat any carrot cake but the wife did, she said it was good but tasted more like fruit cake, but good.

My husband and I had lunch at the Castroville Cafe today, right in the heart of town. I have to say, stepping in the door was awsome. It's a converted old house, and they managed to make it feel upscale and modern, and old and historic at the same time! Very charming interior. Very good service. I asked our server... More

The Castroville Salad was super good but they only make their gourmet burger well done... bummer! The setting was lovely and inviting.

Food was not great but very good. All the folks with us enjoyed their order. Small cozy of course it is in a what was at one time a home where a family lived. There is outside seating. The day we were there it was busy but the waitstaff although hurried took good care of us initially but never returned... More

Take the pleasant back road drive from Sam Antonio to visit the Castroville Cafe. Husband and I had a lovely, peaceful lunch at this gem. Very pleasant visual and the food was very good. Seating inside and out. The broccoli cheese soup was some of the best I've had and husband really enjoyed his patty melt. Peach ice tea was... More
