On a day after a major storm where most areas lost power and while craving some Chinese, we decided to give this place a shot, mainly because it was open. Make no mistake: this is NOT a restaurant. Rather, it's one of those "hole in...the wall, in-and-out" places where you call and get it delivered or you call ahead and pick your food up and go. Walking in, the place is pretty spartan and shabby looking in its decor, the bathroom is out of service and there isn't much to inspire you to trust it. The attendant was less than pleasant and the menu was limited...but when the food came...surprise! It actually was pretty good! We ordered a combination Lo Mein, a combination Fried Rice, some fried donuts, and an egg drop soup. The Lo Mein was absolutely delightful and plenty, and so was the rice, with plenty of food for more than two adult portions on each. They like to use Sesame seed oil so keep that in mind if you object to that flavor profile, but overall and for the price, though we'd love to write this place off as a so-so place, we can't. The food is just good enough to keep them on our radar, and I'm sure we will be back. Prices are competitive ($7.95 for each combo meal). TIP: Call ahead. If you order as a walk-in, it will take at least 10 minutes for whoever is on the other side of the wall in the kitchen (it's probably grandpa) to cook your food. It'll save you time.More
