We are always searching for good "off-the-beaten path" restaurants in our travels and this place fit the bill. Service was really good. Staff very friendly. I ordered beer-battered shrimp, expecting the usual "just barely better than frozen", but was pleasantly surprised with six large tasty shrimp. My wife ordered chicken-fried chicken which was huge. The only downside was that the... More

My husband and I decided to stop in for lunch during our 2 hour layover on the Austin steam train trip. We heard such good things about it on Texas Hill Country Reporter. Wrong! After getting a plate of what they called nachos, which were just a pile of chips, some ground beef, lettuce and tomato, and sour cream, (for... More

We just ate here on a Wednesday night. E had read many reviews and decided on this place over Mama's Cafe. It was a very neat and tidy restaurant with nice waitstaff. We ordered several appetizers (some were actually meant for the main meals). We had two "Texas Nachos" and they were HUGE and very tasty. My son ordered the... More

After much improvement the service has suffered a serious setback! Waiting for over an hour to be served lunch is just too much to endure. To compound the problem when the meal arrived it was not as described in the menu, which was explained with a simple, "well we are discontinuing that item and the advertised companion dish is no... Food was tasty good, waiter (Brandon) was great. Only negative is that it was so loud that my wife and I could barely hear each other across the small table. We would gladly go again and choose a better table.

Stopped for the night in Burnet. This restaurant was recommended by the front desk at our hotel. Situated in a charming Texas-style town square. Service was very good. I had the batter-fried shrimp, which were HUGE, and delicious. My wife had the blackened catfish and green beans, which she raved about.

The square in Burnet has more and more cute little shops to explore, so while you are there this is a great place to grab some lunch.

We heard about Trailblazer on a TV report about Texas eateries, decided to alter our route so we could try it out. We were not disappointed, food and service was great. On TV they mentioned the Chicken Pot Pie, due to our late lunch time we went lighter fare since we still had four hours of driving ahead. Wife had... More

Horrible service! We had to ask someone if we had a waiter. We had to get up and go to the back to ask for more drinks. Our waitress never looked us in the eye as she passed by assisting other patrons. Once the food finally arrived, she passed all but one meal out then stopped to talk to another... More

Thanks for your review, do you happen to know who your waitress was? We have been a bit short staffed but it does not sound like that was the problem. It will be addressed with ALL my staff. More

I was in town for tactical medical training and my group went there for dinner. I feel in love with this place as soon as I saw it. The staff made us feel very welcome and even opened up the private room for us. The pot pie was the best ever and so was the baked mac and cheese. You... More

We are located in the Historic Town Square in Burnet, Texas. Built in the late 1890's, we have maintained a lot of the integrity of the original building by keeping the tin ceilings and using the original wood in some of our architectural renovations.
