After a VERY hard day we headed to the White Hart for dinner. As always staff were absolutely wonderful and very attentive. Lovely food and the menu changes so regularly, as its seasonal, there's always something new to try. Great cocktails. Great staff. Great wine. Great food. Great atmosphere. Made my day so much better!

A long journey for a family get together. First impressions were good. Nice table, friendly waitress, lovely old building. Downhill from then on I'm afraid. The staff periodically seemed to disappear all at the same time & then whisked past the table not making eye contact as though they had more important things to do. I ordered the scallops to... Difficult one to give a star rating - the food was excellent, as was the service and menu, with a lovely ambiance in a traditional English setting, but the Sunday roast was, IMHO, very expensive (£23 for one slice of beef?) and we were also overcharged, so that sullied the experience somewhat. In fairness, they quickly issued a refund when... More

We booked for a family reunion and picked the White Hart inn as a central meeting point for two groups of people travelling from Basingstoke and Cheltenham. We were not disappointed. The inn has friendly staff and the food is absolutely wonderful. They were also happy to cater for 2 vegan family members, who were impressed by the choice of... More

I hadn't booked and was therefore seated in the pub area by the old fireplace. A lovely 15th century building full of character and an intriguing menu. I opted for the slow-roasted belly of Kelmscott pork, which turned out to be a fabulous choice. Beautifully served with along thin strip of crispy crackling, absolutely delicious! The place was soon bustling... More

Wonderful lunch here last Sunday - three tasty meals - starter main and pudding really lovely - belly pork particularly moist and delicious and sticky toffee pudding light as a feather - even with drinks only £40 per head.

Seven of us were warmly welcomed for a 78th birthday lunch. Pleasant table and excellent food and wine. Really good value for money. Have been many times and will certainly come again.

Have frequented this eating establishment on many occasion, the most recent being yesterday lunchtime. Unfortunately this time the roast beef was very disappointing - I like beef medium but this appeared undercooked & three of us had to request sharp knives to even try & cut it - on mentioning it very discreetly to a waitress we were told that... Description
A mere seven miles from the centre of Oxford, in the picturesque village of Fyfield, The White Hart is the ultimate country pub and restaurant. It is a stunning former chantry house dating back to the 15th century, boasting many original features. With soaring eaves in the Great Hall and Minstrel's Gallery, a roaring log fire in winter and pretty terrace bursting with flowers and aromatic herbs in summer, The White Hart is not only cosily beautiful but offers a warm, village welcome too. With a passion for provenance, the kitchen grows much of the restaurant's fruit and vegetables in a large kitchen garden and also sources food from the very best local suppliers. Even bread, pasta and ice cream is homemade fresh on site. Frequently changing, the menus rely purely on what is fresh and available, ensuring food which delivers on every level. No wonder they hold 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence!
