Stopped for lunch at the Black Bear Cafe on the way out of Great Smokey Mountains National Park. The grouper fillet and fried okra were among the best I've ever had. Wonderful friendly service.

We finished the Tuckaleechee cave and were very hungry. We stopped at the Black Bear Cafe and had an excellent experience. It is small, a minimum of seating and we had 8 in our group. We were quickly and efficiently seated, drink orders were taken immediately and then food orders followed and the food was excellent. We had 4 kids,... More
I've been to this restaurant several times now when visiting TN, and it always impresses me! The waitresses are always so friendly and welcoming. My cup never sits empty. The food is always yummy, and the desserts are amazing! You'll be full from your meal, so get the dessert to go. It will not disappoint. Truly a hidden gem in... More
My husband and I both had the grouper dinner. The fish was absolutely delicious cooked to perfection. My husband had their french fries and I had the baked potato. The serving of fries was huge and according to my husband quite tasty. Our waitress was Carla and she was so nice and very attentive. We didnt order any desert, but... More
The Black Bear Cafe had just opened for the season when we visited for lunch. There were six of us. The waitress did a good job. The food was fair, nothing spectacular, but decent food. The portions were good sized. It's a small place and it filled up quickly.
The six of us enjoyed our lunch at the Black Bear Cafe. The portions were excellent in both quality and quantity. The service was excellent without being overly pushy. The atmosphere befits the environment. The overall value was excellent.

Delicious sandwiches, include a very reasonably price rib eye sandwich, cooked to desired doneness from a whole steak. And as others have... More
I had a half sandwich and a bowl of potato soup. It was good, but the soup was not hot, only lukewarm... but still tasty. It was a busy place, but service was kind of slow. My feet were freezing the entire time we were there. Kind of drafty under the tables. I enjoyed the paintings of trees around the... More
The food was really good, especially the chicken salad sandwich they had on special. The fried okra was to die for. Loved the service. The kid's chicken fingers were a little over cooked. Otherwise, a great dining experience.
