I've returned to Coonara Springs, this time with all the staff from work for a games night and Christmas function. We were given a beautiful dining room with an open fine which had been set for us with games tables around the room edges. The chef had prepared a set menu for us while meeting the needs of gluten free... More

Nice slow food very well prepared. Perhaps good to have a few more herbs and spices. Set lunch menu tasty and not too much food. Staff knowledgeable and friendly. Not rushed. Fairly expensive but quality. Leave time to walk around garden and see view.

The setting of this restaurant alone is worth the visit. Set as it is in the Dandenong hills the drive to the restaurant is through stunningly beautiful Australian countryside of enormous gum trees. The experience then only gets better. The restaurant sits in the middle of beautiful gardens and the food and service meet the same standards. Amanda, the manager... More

It is just fantastic to see the this beautiful, 120 year old property so lovingly restored with no expense spared on both the building and the gardens. Equally, the sensational menu presented by Adrian was of the highest quality. Every option in every course was enticing. The best international style with subtle nods to his kiwi roots and years of... More

Great Location looking out onto manicured gardens.we had the set menu and it was all well above average. we had a great night and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is going to cost a bit more than most local places but I think it was well worth it.

My wife and I had an amazing dinner. The family run restaurant delivers an exceptional food experience. Every dish we had blended flavours fantastically. The scallops were they best we have had and strawberry mess topped off a great evening of fine dinning. Angela provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere and very recommendation made was a winner. Adrian is a... More

We have been dining at Coonara Springs for at least ten years and have always found the food first class and the setting delightful. Most recently we celebrated our wedding anniversary with lunch at the newly renovated Coonara Springs. The setting of course, was as charming as ever. The gardens have been re-landscaped and the old building completely restored to... More

I recently had the great pleasure of enjoying lunch at Coonara Springs with my sister. We visited on a Wednesday, the Bistro Day. It was a wonderful experience - the setting was amazing and the service was friendly and welcoming. It was a cold day and we were greeted with an open fire and then shown into the cosy restaurant... Savoured scrumptious lunch at this now favourite new restaurant yesterday and NO regrets; I'm a sucker for the slow cooked Aga lamb and my friend favoured the home-made pasta with delicious herbs and mushrooms. The view into the Yarra Valley beyond was magical, the gardens picturesque, the service 5-star, the cuisine always a triumph, and chef Adrian very accommodating as... More

It is a pleasure to find a world class restaurant in the Dandenongs. This restaurant offers great service that from welcome to farewell from Amanda was exceptional - the chef Adrian visiting the table and discussing the food to the attentive, efficient and seamless service during the meal was a pleasure. The food was fantastic and a pleasure to eat... More

Description
A destination restaurant set in seven acres of landscaped gardens with views over the Yarra Valley. Modern Australian food with a hint of nostalgia from the past. The 90 year old weatherboard property has recently been restored, celebrating its glorious history of entertaining since the 1920's. Enjoy the light filled restaurant floor overlooking the gardens, the lounge rooms next to open fires in winter or the private dining room for special events and weddings. Adrian the chef prides himself on both growing and making, follow a produce to plate philosophy, tending his veggies in our extensive growing areas which guests can walk around. Don't forget a visit to the spring if you feel like a longer walk, and book our outdoor dining tables during the summer months. Enjoy locally sourced wines, home made breads, butters and ice-cream! Amanda or one of our team look forward to welcoming you to Coonara Springs.
