What a great little place. Popped in here for some dinner as cooking was just not going to happen tonight. Pulled up a seat at the bar which allows you to watch the chefs in action. Had a quick look at the menu but thought I'd get some recommendations and got told there were some new additions to the menu... More

Wanted Tapas tonight, but Maestro in Manly was fully booked so ended up here. Complicated.. Came in and thought this was a vibrant, well decorated place with kitchen and bardisk in one. Expectation rised. As been living in Barcelona for several years we know our Tapas. Orderered several types, Albondigas, Calamares, Croncettas, Broccolinis, Gambos, Jamon Iberico.... and the little one... More

Nice, friendly service and the bar has a pleasant vibe, once they turned the music down from disco levels, but the tapas is average. Nothing wrong, just nothing to write home (or post here) about.

Jah Bar is a busy place overlooking Dee Why beach so booking is advisable. It is a tapas restaurant and each and every course was both imaginative and delicious. We enjoyed a house bottle of red and had no complaints until the bill arrived. We had originally chosen a set meal for $35 and one for $55 but were told... More

I last dined here around 18 months ago and loved it. Tonight I left feeling like we had an average meal. The roast beetroot salad I am sure was tinned, sliced beetroot. The chorizo was ordinary as was the sangria. Anyway, I will give the Dee why Jah Bar a visit again but not back to the manly one.

I did think that waiting around 15 mins to order an initial drink was tardy service, but it turns out they were two staff down on the night, so allowances must be made. The food was very good, although the weakest of the lot was the most expensive. The prawns in garlic and chilli were served with toasted bread. Now... More

Food was delightful. I think our group ordered about 15 different tapas plates and not one person was disappointed with what they tried. The food can be a bit pricey, but it wasn't too pricey. If you were on a really tight budget I would give this place a miss. The atmosphere was great. On the inside the table and... More

The location, decor and low key menu leaves one thinking this is a typical tapas place. The kind of ones we have seen many times. But thankfully it aint by any means. There is the first rate produce; the innovative flavours; the focus on healthy and soulful food...but none of this does justice to heart and soul and attention that... More

Used to be a regular visit when living in Manly so we were delighted to see its just as good as ever on a recent return to the area. Great tapas, friendly staff and good value. Its tucked away, and off the tourist route but well worth finding. One of the best restaurants in Manly.

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
