My partner and I had heard about the restaurant and the novelty of cooking your steak on a hot stone and wanted to try it before taking friends who are due to visit Newport soon rather than taking them to one of our regular places. I had been told that if you are using the pub then it doesn't cost... More

We have been to The Light House a few times but had never had an evening meal in the restaurant. We had heard it was fantastic so wanted to try it. The down stairs isn't modern but it's clean. The staff are so friendly and so helpful. We booked on the day and arrived for a pre-meal drink. We were... More

Well what a gem, the steaks are absolutely amazing. Better than any steak I've had in Cardiff. Lovely family run place, well priced, lovely atmosphere, Portions very big and delicious. You cook the Steak yourself on a hot stone with plenty of veg and most scrumptious home made chips/wedges. We went on a Friday night and it was one of... More

Confused by the photos that must be the upstairs which I've never seen as a family we've only done Sunday lunches at the venue which is served on the ground floor. Food is good, generous portions and imaginative deserts. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Venue is rough around the edges. Great dog walking along the coast but dogs only allowed... More

Visited the venue for a pre-wedding meal the night before. At first glance it appeared a very average pub, but once the food was started my option changed. Great starters, sides and drinks. Meat is prepped in full view and giving to you along with a 320 degree hot stone to cook you own steak with. Outstanding. And all for... More

Midweek and Sunday carvery cannot be beaten at 9.40 for large dinner. Choice of 3 meats, and an unbelievable amount of fresh vegetable selection, all cooked to perfection. Looking around at other people's plates the food from the general menu looked fabulous also. Staff and owners really friendly, these owners deserve to succeed. Child friendly with play equipment in the garden.... More

Description
We are a traditional country pub situated right on the edge of the severn estuary. We serve bar meals downstairs on thursdays, fridays and saturdays along with our popular sunday lunch. We also have a steakhouse restaurant upstairs which opens on a friday and saturday night and serves "steak on a stone" which is a hot volcanic rock that cooks your steak to perfection at your table. This restaurant is strictly adult only because of the hot rock system.
