We spent a night at Milebrook House Hotel, arriving in time for afternoon tea and excellent shortbread before a stroll in the attractive garden. Dinner and breakfast were not only very well-cooked but also beautifully presented. We had a drink in the small bar by the open fire before going into the dining room next door. The hotel has the... Service and staff are excellent and this little country hotel is truly delightful. The gardens are stunning, its position beside the river and on the Welsh border makes it a wonderful place to stay and the food is really good.

We stayed here under a dinner, bed and breakfast "winter escape" deal and have reviewed the accommodation seperately. The cost was £290 for two nights plus drinks. All the food that we had was exceptional apart from a soup and dessert on the second night which we would give 4/5 rather than full marks. It was a shame that on... More

We were invited to dinner at the Milebrook Hotel which is a favourite with our generous friend. I can see why. The house is calm and elegant reminding guests of a bygone age. The food though is up to date in design and of a high quality. It was quiet on the evening we went with only two other tables... More

Purely by chance came across a sign saying lunches and turned in to find we had stepped back in time ! Lovely old building in fantastic grounds - only a shame we were not booked in for the night to take advantage of the hotel. Dropped in for a lunch in the bar. This was like sitting in an antique... We discover the Milebrook by chance whilst driving past and decided on the spur of the moment to give it a try. We loved it - the hotel is attractive, the staff both welcoming and friendly with absolutely wonderful food. Certainly on our list of places to revisit. Throughly recommended.

Very nice setting here, the gardens are wonderful, however the food was not what we expected very average and very limited to what was on the menu,as they had run out of beef for the sandwich which we ordered. May try again when next in the area.

Visited here in late April for a birthday celebration. Food very good with nice canapes offered to us on arrival. My only comment would be that I would have liked a soft unpasteurised cheese to be included in the cheese selection rather that all hard cheeses..Other than that, everything was perfect.

Food was first class. Accomodation was a little dated. Haven't slept under blankets instead of a duvet for many a year. I expect a little more attention for detail at these prices.

Food here is fantastic - never had a bad meal! Went for Christmas a couple of years and lovely atmosphere. Tables were rearranged so you sat in banks of three with I think 10 to 12 on each. Even with all those people sat at one time - you couldn't fault the service and food was hot. Staff are friendly,... More
