The George is a quirky shop/restaurant. The staff were really accommodating - we tried on the off chance without a booking on a Saturday night - and their service was great throughout. However, I have to say the food was only 'fine'. Absolutely edible and...More

Excellent meal yet again..despite being fully booked we still managed to get our favourite window seat. Aisha cooked an amizing fillet steak creole and the monkfish was succulent in a saffron and vermouth sauce. Cant wait until next time.

The George's (Est 1989) is a Local Independent Restaurant and Shop serving freshly prepared food with locally sourced ingredients. The ambience is unique and relaxed and we serve food all day. There is a delightful walled garden to the rear with plenty of sheltered seating and stunning views over the Town, Castle and surrounding countryside. On a Saturday we serve Dinner until 9.30pm with a wide selection of both British and International dishes as well as a large selection of Vegetarian meals. Our intimate seating booths are extremely popular for tables up to six and larger gatherings catered for in our light and airy upstairs restaurant.
