A beautiful building in a historic town, located on the top of the square, the building is very quirky and a really comfortable setting. The resturant predominantly is a bar and grill, with some classic dishes. We welcome families and will happily accommodate for children who would like to have what they fancy. Send us an email and we will happily send over a menu.

Visited on a Friday evening. Quickly seated and given drinks. Good choice on the menu, chose the garlic mushrooms and bruschetta with tomatoes for starters. We didn’t have to wait long for these to come and both were lovely. For mains we chose a burger...(Friday night is Burger Night with a burger and a drink for £10 which was a great deal in our opinion) and a mixed grill. Again we didn’t have to wait long until the mains arrived and both were delicious, steak was cooked exactly how we’d asked and was very filling. Covid restrictions in place which was great to see and didn’t take away from the meal at all. We’ll definitely be back soon, diolch!More

Expensive pub style food. Very friendly staff but food was below average. Salmon cold on a huge bed of cold green beans. Steak overcooked - but they did replace it and second one was fine. Veg & side salad were very poor. Dauphinois potatoes had...a funny cheesy taste. Gammon & burger were fine. It’s a shame as they haven’t got much competition as not many places open. But not many people in. Only the second night of opening after lockdown so maybe this had an impact.More

In 30+ years of eating in hotels and restaurants across the world this was the most appalling experience by some measure and I have been to some awful places. Having been sat next to the kitchen we could unfortunately witness first hand the incompetence of...the kitchen and waiting on staff. There was clearly no system in the kitchen which resulted in food either being taken to the wrong tables or not at all. Thrown into this was a number of large groups all booked in at the same time which just made an unsustainable situation worse. As quickly as food was leaving the kitchen it was coming back as well as disgruntled patrons walking into the kitchen to demand where the food was and why they were being kept waiting. We were a party of four who received 2 mains 30 mins before the other mains arrived. A feeble apology from the youngest member of their team who in fairness looked like the only one who knew what he was doing! The burgers we received were poorly prepared and did not match the menu description and the chips were oily and chronically undercooked. The vegetarian pasta dish was a tasteless mush and probably the most overcooked you can make pasta without turning into a liquid. Just to add to the descent into shambles the clamour from the other tables voicing their disquiet was enough to ruin anyone’s evening. When I attempted to speak to a Lady who I assume was the owner/manager she quickly delegated this to the young waiter who bravely took my comments, even though this was clearly not what a young lad earning min wage should have to cope with. I understand restaurants can be short staffed or just have a bad night but it’s how you respond that matters. In summary clueless, avoid at all costs.More

Very disappointed with the food, waited over an hour for just the mains then waited over 30 minutes for dessert. Had to eat with our coats on due to the fact it was very cold in the building, Wouldn’t recommend for the price, could think...of many better restaurant to eat at.More

We had the most amazing steak here! The staff were also so so lovely and accommodating as we had not booked but they still managed to squeeze us in! We will definitely be back!

I’ve visited this establishment a number of times during 2019 and was always most impressed with all aspects of my experience – from the welcome upon arrival, to the quality of the food and the service from the staff (mainly college kids it felt like)....However, a recent visit for a birthday celebration was anything but all of what I mention above... I lost track of how many different members of staff served us during our visit – I’m not convinced that any of them knew how to look after customers or offer a quality service. A number of examples that could be easily corrected… - A request for a drink was made by one member of the party… but the waiter made no attempt to ask if anybody else wanted a drink. - A white wine and soda was ordered, but a red wine and soda arrived. - A separate round of drinks was subsequently ordered; the waiter who took the order brought the drinks to the table and had absolutely no idea of who had ordered what. In fact, we all felt like the whole tray of drinks could land in any of our laps at any time! - The candle on the table was lit after we had been there 90 minutes and after all other tables had been lit! The waiter made a comment that our candle wasn’t very good as had almost no fluid in the bottom. The fact that it went out instantly was predictable and he didn’t think to swap it with another empty table, or to get it filled. - The food order took a very long time from order to serving. Furthermore, the food was mediocre and some of it wasn’t overly warm – certainly nowhere near, the standard we had enjoyed previously. - The music in the place felt like the same half dozen songs going round in circles.More

Very warm welcome from Sophie who looked after us all night who was a Complete star and probably deserves a pay rise after having to sort our drinks out after they’d ran out of every draft beer apart from San Miguel. Food was fine apart...from the raw potato but the chef sent there apologies. We would probably return to get get great service from Sophie but everything else was a tad mediocre.More

Modest selection of meals that were mostly available - Pleasant decor & staff. Bit a long wait for the food which was OK. Actually a bit chilly in there but it was December
