I was hoping to be able to improve the rating I gave a few months back but sadly no. The place is perennially under-staffed and the food is below average even for Wetherspoons standard. I'll continue to work with grab the occasional drink here but would rather eat elsewhere.

Chips undercooked, chicken overcooked, rice overcooked, poppadoms greasy, naan bread cold and overdone, pub had ran out of mayonnaise.....with several supermarkets nearby why couldn't they just buy a few bottles to keep them going... This place has been open for years and years. I remember going in for a drink with the lads when it first opened and thought the place was ace! Went for a lunch a few weeks back and yes the food is your typical spoons food so no surprises there, good value for money and plenty of choice when it... More

For years my wife and I have enjoyed eating when the curry club is on and for years we kept returning time and time again. Until now. We ordered 2 chicken tikka masala with rice and 4 naans which is what we normally eat and enjoy. On this Occassion it was the worst curry since the history of British curry... More

Food is average except for chips, they are disgusting, ok if you want something cheap and cheerful, staff are mostly friendly but not enough of them to keep on top of cleaning the tables and serve drinks

Nice place, bar staff were friendly, had a bite to eat and as always the food was consistent (certainly not Michelin star) and arrived pretty quick. Atmosphere was good, big TV screen showing the rugby so what's not to like and enjoy. Only down side had to be the person clearing tables! Loved the sound of his own voice, spent... More

Needing food at 8.30 we headed to the Gold Cape. Although busy the tables were clean and we found a seat. Good service and reliable food.

This is my third vist here. And like always the staff were polite and friendly and food lovely. Came here for a meal after a day out with the parents we ordered three 14 ounch ribeye steaks. To be cooked medium they were cooked to perfection and tasted beautful.
