My wife and I take out two boys everywhere!--including this restaurant. One could see that the waitress was a bit nervous, but by the end of the night, she was laughing and enjoying our company. This is one of the nicest restaurants in Memphis. Because of that, it's meant only for adults. However, my two sons enjoyed sharing our 5... More

If you are looking for a special occasion restaurant, Iris definitely fits the bill. The service and food are consistent and delicious. With a southern, N.O. flair, Chef English always delivers very tasty and creative dishes. Kudos to the bar as well!

This place impressed me from the starters all the way to dessert. We had 3 starters: bbq shrimps, fried oysters and fried brussel sprouts. . All superb! I ordered the Surf & Turf for my main course. It's a classic dish for them. It's a sirloin steak stuffed with cheese and shrimp which were substitutes for blue cheese and oysters.... More

We went to Iris for a belated birthday dinner. I was skeptical but can honestly say our meal lived up to the hype. The food was exquisitely presented and tasted amazing. Portions are typical for fine dining. The place itself is in a victorian house. It feels small and private- in a GOOD WAY! Do NOT go to Iris without... More

We were with a group of 18 people that I had organized. Twelve of us were in a private room, and the other six were in a separate room where there was another table for 6. The service was outstanding and everyone raved about their meals and desserts. I ordered the Amberjack which was delightful. Others at our table ordered... More

We have been to Iris on a Friday night. Unfortunately, we have been fully disappointed with the experience. The mood was set upon arrival with a $8 fee for the valet. I mean, seriously? If you want to be that fancy place and put your best service awards first thing on your homepage, a free valet should be naturally part... More

My daughter and I went to Restaurant Iris last night. Neither of us had eaten there before. After the meal I thought,"I wish we had just had appetizers and dessert and skipped the entrees." The problem was the errors in execution on both our entrees. I had the Grilled Snapper with sweet corn purée and hominy. Surprisingly the fish was... More

To be honest I was not as impressed with Iris as I had anticipated. Service was good, not anything extra, appetizers were good, but $18 for the Heirloom Tomato salad which consisted of one large slice of tomato and dressings was a little too much. The other appetizer that we ordered sounded interesting with crispy chicken skin...it was thick and... More

Saved this restaurant for our last night in Memphis. It came highly recommended, reservations required. I don't eat spicy food, so Chef and Owner visited our table to make certain his food had been enjoyed. This is a quaint old house converted into small dining rooms. Absolutely wonderful food and service. I would certainly revisit and highly recommend!
