This is the 'where will we go on the way home for a bite to eat' pub. Good real ales, extensive menu with generous portions and loads of tables, we chose the one near one of the fires. Staff are friendly, helpful and omnipresent when you need something. Curry night on Thursday so we took advantage of the huge starter... More

It would be really difficult to fault the food here; good variety of choice on the menu; generous portions; very reasonable prices; homemade chips (a rarity these days). Everything we had, freshly made and very tasty. We will be back!

Great ambience and fab food served by amazingly courteous and friendly staff. Food was good sized portions, fresh and very enjoyable. Compliments to the management and staff, this place is a little gem tucked far enough away to get away from it all but close enough for another visit.

Had been out walking with family and were in need of some food and refreshment. Had driven past this place many times. A warm welcome and we managed to get a table for six by the log fire. Food was very good and served quickly. Prices very reasonable. A comfortable Inn. Toilets a bit limited. Staff very attentive. A week... More

We stopped for dinner on a whim and we are certainly glad that we did. The place was very busy, but very traditional inside and a great atmosphere. The food was delicious and there was plenty to choose from. Everyone came away feeling like they wanted to go back.

We have eaten at this place on regular trips to nearby relatives but our recent visit left us horrified .My wife was exiting the (single) ladies toilet when she was nearly knocked over by the barmaid rushing past her ,closing the cubicle door and vomiting . She then came out and told a customer drinking at the bar that she... More

I have been coming here for years. Usually for lunch/dinner with family or friends. Cannot fault the pub food on offer. Large helpings and I've never had a bad meal. It's a small pub but very cosy and welcoming with the log burners going.

From the moment we stepped in, it was clear we were on to something special. The place was cosy - warm and not too busy. The bar had a good selection of beer and whisky. We were only staying for dinner and a drink, so I had a San Miguel from draft. It was crisp and cold - a friend... More

Visited here a couple of days ago and when we arrived the boy at the bar could have been a bit happier to see us, as he could have been during our visit here, wasn't really a warm welcome. Ordered the chicken fillet in a leek and cream cheese sauce a it was delicious. Cooked well and was piping hot.... More
