OK lunch, poor view. We should have sat in the garden, we realised that as soon as we ordered our food. We had a dog with us and so sat outside but didn't realise that there were nicer places in the garden. As it was...we sat at the front of the restaurant and our view was the untidy outside of a cottage, including an old boiler and broken lawnmower. The vegetarian lunch (asparagus and boiled egg salad) was very nice, the seafood salad was mediocre, iceberg lettuce with languostine and crab claw. Tasty enough food.More

We stumbled across Botanica at the barn during an evening bike ride and came back today for coffee and a cake. What a lovely place to sit and enjoy freshly baked produce with the local roast coffee! A friendly welcome, local catch seafood available too......what's not to like. Can't wait to come back :)More

Exceptional coffee in a great environment hidden away in Argyle. Worth seeking out after visiting Kilbride Beach. We stumbled across it, but next time I’d plan to come for brunch or any other meal. We were eating his produce all the way home.

Lovely hidden gem of a place! The owners are absolutely lovely, freshly baked and bread and savouries, amazing cakes (really recommend the carrot cake) and coffee. There’s a really nice garden with some children’s play area with benches to sit in on a good day...(next to the sheep!) and there’s plenty of space inside too (it’s bigger than it looks from the outside). Great place to stop for a refreshment break and on a sunny day you could easily while away the afternoon in the garden.More

Went here on Saturday 24th when there was pizza theme menu. We had booked but that was to make sure we got a space given we had decided to walk there. Friendly lady served us and essentially we were advised we could pick toppings for...our pizza. A meat feast was created for us and freshly baked. The pizza was delish, perfect base which was light and toppings were plentiful and tasty. There was a discussion about the size of the pizza and were offered a smaller pizza too which had ground spicy mince and peppers which was again very flavoursome. We also decided to sample the cakes too as they had been tempting us. Opted for a brownie and millionaires shortbread. Both equally tasty and freshly made. We are also asked for a sourdough and were advised they had sold out but kindly offered to bake one and bring to our accommodation. This was such a lovely offer and an example of the hosts going out of their way to offer excellent customer service. Needless to say we thoroughly enjoyed the bread too. I would recommend Botanica as a unique eatery that offers fresh, wholesome and flavoursome food with amazing flavour combinations. Great setting too with goats and chickens roaming around too.More

Myself and my partner had a lovely relaxed lunch at Botanica at the Barn, today. It was a 'pizza' day, and the fresh baked pizzas that Michal produced were amazing, followed by delicious coffee and homemade cakes. Michal and his partner (sorry we didn't catch...your name) even baked, and delivered a sourdough loaf to us, as they had sold out when we were in. That definitely counts as going above and beyond, good customer service. Would recommend people, find there way to this little gem.More

Bought home made bread and some cakes as we were staying some way away from the village. Produce was great quality and would recommend. Maybe phone before going as we popped back twice during ‘opening ‘hours and it was closed We didn’t eat at the...cafe so not sure if it’s openMore

We didn't eat here but popped in one day and spoke to the owner and saw the food on offer. It looked really exceptionally good. Lovely freshly made bread, pastries and cakes. I wish we had been here at another time but during Covid and...out of season it was shut much of the time or operating at reduced hours. I could tell that the food would be exceptional just by looking at it.More

We called in at the very end of lunchtime on a very busy day. Although most things were sold out the focaccia we were served was outstanding and the service was prompt, friendly and relaxed. We definitely hope to have another visit when we'll make...sure we arrive earlier.More
