We stopped here on the way to the Ariundle woods. It was a quiet and cold Saturday morning. The cafe was very quiet but we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed some good cakes and coffee sat by the wood burner. It hot the spot nicely...More

We stopped in here after a walk in the nearby nature reserve. It was 5pm and just one staff member was working- but he warmly greeted us and made us feel welcome, explaining that he needed to setup for the evening but we were welcome...More

We enjoyed a very good evening meal here from their candle lit dinner menu. The menu is small - about three starters and deserts and four or five main courses but everything was home cooked and delicious. The beef braised steak was especially enjoyable and...More

This is a gorgeous spot. Beautiful autumn colours. Homemade soups, great scones and cakes. Open all winter! See wonderful display of wool dying and spinning, the old lead mines, Gaelic placenames etc. Wool was cooking in lichen and big myrtle when we were there!

Stopped for both coffee and a look at the 'centre'. The cafe looked well laid out but the building smelled and had an air of out-of-way shabbiness. Gift shop seems to be mainly woollens.

Great quality cakes, soup and food. Very nice host with great sense of humour. The bread pudding is excellent and worth the trio alone.
