Great little place to go with the kids for coffee & cake or lunch. Very friendly staff. Homemade Millionaire's Shortbread is the business...

One of the best Cullen Skink, ever! The sandwiches are fresh and enormous, the soups are homemade and the baking is fantastic. A great place to have lunch after a walk in the area.

This is not the first time we have visited The Smiddy, but on Saturday night it was the first time for dinner. Excellent food, well served and although quite quiet, a relaxed and pleasant ambience. First class value for money and I look forward to the next visit. Seek out this venue-the choice in Lochgilphead is not great and this... More

Had a meal here on Friday evening and everything was perfect!! The restaurant itself is cosy and well decorated. A lovely homely feel. The choice of menu is varied with something for all tastes plus a specials board. I chose the goats cheese starter then cheesy macaroni. Brilliant portions and well presented meals. Our waitress, Emma, was polite and friendly.... More

I can't say enough positive things about this restaurant! Service is excellent as is the location. Best thing of all however is the food, my favourite has to be the steak pie. Hands down the best I've ever had. Looking forward to my next trip up so I can eat here again

Beautiful lunch/dinner. Only place open post new year but what a find. I had macaroni cheese and salad and the salad alone was amazing. Then a sticky toffee cake. Mmmm to die for Highly recommended.

I've been here a few times now for brunch - a roll with sausage and/or egg and a pot of tea. It's a friendly cafe and everything is cooked to order. That can mean a short wait but it's worth it. The only thing is that it tends to be cold, at least in the mornings when I've been in.... More

Just had our Christmas dinner here, what a meal it was absolutely fantastic. For starters I had black pudding and goats cheese, gosh it was amazing. Then turkey which was the best I've ever had plus trimmings, then I had crumble to finish, probably a bad move I felt more stuffed than the turkey. The rest of the party were... More
