We stayed here while on a road trip around Scotland with our dog and it was one of our favourite stops of the trip! It's a lovely property with stunning views across the cove, with very friendly and helpful hospitality. The rooms are very comfortable and we loved the home baked treats with the tea set. My favourite thing was... More

Quite a different experience from the usual restaurant outing - diners (some residents and others like ourselves just there for the food) met in the lounge from 7pm for pre-dinner drinks and to choose from the menu before going through to the dining room (where each group is sat at their own table) which gives the opportunity to chat to... My wife and I were on route to Islay and decided to stop over on Kintyre, near to Campbell town, for the night. I found Dunvalanree on line and did a bit of research. It seemed just what I was looking for, called the hotel and spoke to Alan. He gave me the assurances I was looking for, but completely... More

Set in the fabulous Kintyre peninsula which is like an island with lush green tranquillity and beauty. This is a true country house hotel. Small relaxed, beside a beach and golf course. The antidote to corporate chains run by a couple who care and it shines through. The ambience is true welcoming hospitality. The food is local and beautifully cooked by... More

We've been coming here for meals on and off over the summers we've spent holidaying in Carradale as a family. The meals we've had at the Dunvalanree have been delicious on every occasion. Last night we made a return visit with our teenage children. When they last came with us they were only wee and so were just allowed pasta... More

The view alone had the wow factor. The service by the proprietor was excellent, and as for the food, the starter was delightful, the main - a fish lovers paradise as my husband found out. I'm a carnivore and found the alternative extremely good, and then --------- a dessert to die for. I can't recommend it enough,

This hotel restaurant was recommended and having recently moved to the area decided to give it a go, and was glad I did. Was a bit uncomfortable to start with as sitting is at an allotted time, so all guests / customers wait in lounge , until tables ready. But it proved to be good, got to chat to and... More

This is not just a place to eat, the Dunvalanree offers an outstanding dining experience. Arrival for pre dinner drinks was from 7pm, the weather was sublime and so we managed to enjoy drinks overlooking the small bay and golf course. We chose from a locally sourced menu and the food was exquisite. We were served a delicious four course... More

Whilst touring Scotland in our camper van we stopped for coffee at this small hotel one morning in June. Overhearing how good the food was we booked to return that evening and were not disappointed.Three lovely courses each freshly cooked using locally sourced food and very reasonably priced. Not somewhere to go if you are in a hurry but if... More
