We were staying at the hotel and decided on the 2 or 3 course table d'hote option rather than the tasting menu. Our table was beside a roaring log fire which was lovely on such a cold night. We both chose Cullen Skink to start. I had roasted venison loin and my wife had monk fish wrapped in Parma ham.... More

One of the best meals I've ever had. The braised beef dish was incredible. The breakfast was great too.

We had a very good pub lunch in the bar : big bucket of excellent mussels, squat lobster (despite the fiddle to eat it!), rainbow trout and whitebait. Very amicable service. Don't confuse the hotel's pub with its restaurant, they are different in every way. The reviews here seem to cover both, bit confusing. Lovely spot.

Tapadh leibh airson ur teachdaireachd. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your lunch in our Am Praban bar. We pride ourselves on our locally caught seafood and we are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed. This page is specifically for our Birlinn Restaurant, and as you say, very different in every way to the bar. We are... More

We had a delicious dinner here. Unpretentious well cooked scallops ... Delicious lamb with really lovely beets and gratin.... First class frangipani tart.... All served at a pleasant pace with exceptionally cheerful service... The Kiwi lady is charming ! What a delightful supper! Very very fair prices compared with some local places. The Italian wine was excellent for the price...... More

I love the way they seat you in a " living room " type area with the fireplace and you order from there while you have drinks I loved it and made it more special The food is terrific and they offer the the choice of three or four courses

The warm log fire and live musicians created a cosy atmosphere at the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the meal arrived promptly. It was delicious and the portions generous. There is a large range of local produce on the menu including a large selection of seafood and the legendary haggis neeps and tatties. Outside the hotel are some... More

We tried this place as we were staying in a nearby holiday cottage. It seemed a good place to have a lazy Sunday lunch after a long journey the days before. I had originally tried to book a table but was told they didn't accept dogs in the restaurant or bar but we might be OK outside. It was a... More

Bookings not taken so we got in there before the crowds. Diners around us either relieved to be sitting down and ordering or looking a little concerned at the bar that they may not be able to have a table. Our food came in good order-enjoyed by all-chat from staff an added bonus. Ensure you are there nice and early... More

While discovering Skye, we past Hotel Eilean Larmain for lunch at the pub. We had venison, soup and veggie lasagna, all very tasty! We were lucky to have lunch outside at the picknick tables in front of the hotel. Service was fast and friendly. Would recommend when driving through Sleat when visiting Skye!

Thank you so much for your lovely review of our hotel. As you discovered, we're a perfect spot for outdoor dining (when the weather permits!) with outstanding views over the Sound of Sleat and the distant hills of Knoydart. We are so glad you enjoyed your lunch, including the Estate venison. Tigh-òsta Gàidhlig an Eilean Sgitheanaich More

We only stopped by to visit the whiskey place, but next time we come to Skye, this is where we'll stay. Gutted we only found it AFTER our trip where we'd stayed in another place. Idyllic setting, utterly charming and a real gem, even on a miserable day. We went to the bar, lovely staff and also the best chips... More
