We were staying in Cromarty for the week and wanted to support the local businesses. We arrived around 2pm for a late lunch, all masked up like Covid Superheroes;the staff however didn’t appear to have had the email as they weren’t wearing masks?!They were however...providing hand sanitiser and asking customers to provide details for track and trace. As we were ordering our food, the lady taking the order asked my husband if he wanted salad or veg with his order, he apparently didn’t decide quickly enough as she followed up with ‘Don’t just order it if you’re not going to eat it...’cos it’ll just go to waste’. Admirable sentiment but her delivery needs work...felt like we’d been reprimanded for being naughty! Just for the record we ate all salad and vegetables provided. The food itself was ok...but just ok. Overall just didn’t feel very welcome ...which is a shame cos we would have been back, as we were staying just a stones throw away.More
We stayed in Cromarty for a week and visited the Cromarty Arms several times. Each time we were asked to fill in the track and trace register book. Arrows on the floor for one way to the toilets and tape on the floor as guidelines...at the bar for social distancing. We each had a lobster to eat that had been caught fresh that morning which were delicious. We also had fresh sandwiches on another lunch visit and fresh fish for a dinner on another night. The prices were excellent and the beer garden with a lager was ideal.More
We arrived after a long drive tired and hungry, but it wasn’t the pleasant experience we thought it would be. We have got used to going into places just now and been met by staff who have masks or visors, asking that we sanitise and...leave contact details. Not so here. None of the staff had either. If it hadn’t been for a couple at a nearby table we wouldn’t have known there was a track and trace log. Though by the number of the people in the pub, it had not been filled in. We ordered steak pie and a drink, Our food was luke warm and quite tasteless. Beef stew with a prebaked pastry disc, with chips and overcooked veg. It wasn’t good. A visit to the toilet was out of the question, because of the amount of people standing at the bar, I would have had to squeeze past or ask them all to move. I shouldn’t have to do that. There was no social distancing of the customers, nor much attempt at preventing the spread of Covid. We ate our food, paid and left. Reading this, You ma wonder why we didn’t just turn tail and leave? but as I said at the beginning of this review, were tired after our journey. IMore
Very quiet when we went. Good selection of beers/ Alex. Try the cromarty ones. Very friendly, and dogs allowed inside.
After travelling up from Aberdeen on the Saturday we were feeling quite peckish. We thought of something quite homely a pub supper. We went in to the pub and wasn't busy at all and the barman said sit anywhere so we did got our drinks...and looked at the menu. I had the haddock and chips crunchy batter and chips with salad and it was delicious my partner had the liver and chips with veg and he loved it. We had another drink and paid the bill. I have to say the service was good and friendly staff made a good experience and it was very reasonably priced.More
On a dull wet day, the Cromarty Arms had a roaring log fire to welcome it's customers. Friendly welcome and a good choice of food, served in a relaxing lounge. Dog friendly.
I had the homemade mac and cheese and my partner had the homemade curry. Both dishes where very tasty. The Mac n cheese was the best one I’ve ever had! The staff were all friendly and accommodating. A local man was in the pub when...we was in there and he had 3 beautiful black labs. The dogs came and sat with us at some points and it made our night!! Really great night. Looking forward to our second visit!More
