My colleague and I enjoyed a lovely breakfast while visiting nearby Auchterarder on business, from the moment you are welcomed at the entrance to being seated, enjoying your fantastic selection of freshly cooked food to leaving the whole place just oozes class. Yes of course it's not cheap but as I always say you pay for quality and you receive... More

I am a foodie, a cook and difficult to please. This lovely room with high prices should have exquisite food, but it doesn't. We sent back the steak, but learned that steak in Scotland is not the same quality as it is in other countries. A great room, great service and all the trappings of fine dining that misses the... Excellent food in a beautiful dining room. Smoked salmon hand carved at the table. Taste was exceptional. Sirloin cooked perfectly and the cheeseboard is outstanding. Will definitely eat here again. Service too was first class- thank you.

Booked ahead to ensure a large table for 11 in the main Dining Room (best for evening whereas the newer Conservatory annexe is good for breakfast). Enjoyed Ruinart "Blanc de blancs" as we surveyed the magnificent a la carte menu. My son and I opted for the half dozen oysters split 3 from Jersey and 3 from west coast Scotland.... More

Large choice, excellent service and advice on wine selection. Pea & Ham soup is just incredible! Salmon sliced from the cart, flambé at the table and dessert trolley all lovely touches.

I've been fortunate enough to eat at all of the Gleneagles restaurants. Andrew Fairlie, in particular, is sensational, however for those with a more restricted budget or unable to get a seat at the AF, are sure of a great night at the Strathearn. Wel trained staff, live pianist providing background music and a great value 3-course dinner menu with... More

Description
The Strathearn, the glamorous heart of Gleneagles, is one of Scotland's most sophisticated yet buzzy destination restaurants, recreating the elegance of a bygone era with a theatrical flourish. Silver butler trays are whisked with calm confidence between the grand pillars to your candlelit table, filling the air with the scent of flambéd cognac, whisky, pernod or sweet, caramelised Grand Marnier. Steeped in a rich Franco-Scottish tradition, our passionate chefs bring seasonal, locally sourced classics (the names Thermidor, Bonne Femme, Diane, Wellington, Chateaubriand, crêpe Suzette, and, of course, Scottish smoked salmon echo down the ages) to a smart, convivial contemporary audience. The Strathearn is also the home of the legendary Gleneagles breakfast and Sunday lunch.
