As with a few who have commented already, we booked on the back of Mr Roux's visit. Our cousin lives locally so it was a reason to visit both. Yes you have to pay £5 each for the water taxi, but we all felt it...More

Booked a late lunch here this week while on holiday in Exmouth following good reviews and "that" recent spot on TV. I'll begin with the positives.... Dining here is a great experience - where else would you get a 20 minute boat ride to the...More

We booked a table for four for an evening meal after seeing the restaurant with Michel Roux. The watertaxi was an unusual and great start to the evening, we were met at the onboard dock by really friendly staff and shown to our table. The...More

We were staying at Lymstone Manor for 2 nights so had to spend one of them at this lovely spot. We had been there 3 years ago, but it was for a private party so this really was a new experience for us. As soon...More

Such a delight, particularly on the sunny day we had. Water taxi was the first excitement and then drinks and food were amazing. We did have all fish but the burgers coming out looked huge and delicious. Nice touch with the birthday board on the...More

It was expensive if you went for the Neptune platter. Well worth it and what we ate for two would easily have done three. mussels and chips were fairly cheap at £14ish. They have a menu online. You can have tap water to... More

Description
The River Exe Cafe is a floating barge just off the Ski lane on the River Exe, and is in the heart of Exmouth’s water sports fraternity, wakeboarding, waterskiing, kayaking, sailing to name just a few, however it is also situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, protected by Natural England. Open from April to September only . The Exe Estuary is home to many rare birds and creatures including Avocets, Osprey and of course our friendly grey seal. With the potential to take up to 100 people on board the Cafe has been designed very much like the “Ski in Ski out” wooden chalets found on the ski slopes of many ski resorts, but with the intention that the quality of food and service exceeds all expectations of the external look and feel. The barge has a licensed bar and covered outdoor space with heaters and indoor seating to relax well into the evening without suffering the cold. Customers to the barge really are of all ages and walks of life, ranging from the usual river users and water sports enthusiasts to bird watchers, artists and holiday makers. Special events such as birthday parties, anniversaries, stag & hen parties to corporate & team building days can be arranged. Private and exclusive use of the barge is also available.
