It's hard to see how this tiny, low-ceilinged pub could ever be brought up to date but it's got so much charm as it is that there's really no need. It serves good beers and traditional pub grub plus a few more up-market dishes on the menu, but you have to book a long way ahead at busy times as... More

Traditional quirky pub situated in marvellous location. Went for lunch and went over on ferry from Greenway quay. Even though weekday lunchtime premises pretty busy. Noticed that a number of tables had been pre-booked and if you want the prime seat in bay window overlooking the Dart seems essential to book in advance for any time of day. Good local... More

This location is superb: twenty metres from the river, where you can cross over by ferry to Greenways, Agatha Christie's home, or catch the ferry down to Dartmouth. But the pub itself is sadly without character two rooms separated by a bar that does not have a good selection of ales (try The Red Lion Inn further up the road... More

I would highly recommend the 'FBI' the food was good pub fare, there was a great, very friendly atmosphere and the staff were fantastic. There was a good range of food from seafood and fish to pie of the day and steaks as well as a good selection for children. We visited as a family on the Saturday before Halloween... More

Very traditional English pub. We both had the Haddock and Chips. Really excellent fish accompanied by nice peas. Good service with nice beers. Found the service to be friendly and helpful. The Pub had beautiful views of the River Dart. We took the river ferry from Dartmouth harbour. Around £18 return for two for lovely trip to this amazing place... More

Visited twice last week whilst on holiday a couple of miles away. Also viewed from the other side of the Ferry at Greenways - Agatha Christie's former home. This is a charming pub restaurant serving excellent food and great beer. It's small so worth booking. It is approached via a very steep hill and parking is non-existent so if you... More

The bar was in need of some TLC!!! Are you having a laugh?, this is what makes the place. The Ferryboat Inn is not part of a chain or a themed pub its and its slight shabbyness is what gives it the unique feel it has so you can walk in with boots on, flip flops you name it with... More

You'll struggle to find a better location as, with luck, you'll be looking out at the river while you sup. Had a decent few pints and some filling fish and chips which we were reassured were locally sourced. A satisfying stop off.

The Ferry Boat Inn has one of the most spectacular views in Devon, straight onto the River Dart. We were fortunate to get a cancellation and ended up on the picture window table, and were treated to a spectacular sunday lunch, with an excellent mix of everything you would ever need, plus the usual FBI entertainments. Always made to feel... More

Lovely location, must book ahead though as it gets busy at weekends. Nice atmosphere with fantastic views across the estuary.
