We hadn't booked, but even on a Thursday evening, it was mad busy. Only had to wait about 10mins though and were found a table in the bar...but then they forgot to take our order for about 20 mins until I went to the bar to remind them. However....very good food at very reasonable prices. Steak and kidney pudding was... More

Came here for a family get together on Sunday 12th Feb and glad we booked a table for 9 of us as we thought being a Sunday it would be very busy. When we got there for our 2 0clock booking we did have to queue to get in as it was really busy. We did get to sit down... More

We've been 'regulars' (as in, once or twice every summer vacation) for the last 10 years at The Smugglers. It's a fantastic family venue, offering outstanding value carvery and regular menu meals. On this occasion, we both opted for non carvery meals. I had the steak and kidney pud (with carvery veg) and the better half had lasagne. Both were... More

Food was well presented, fresh and tasty. Plenty of variety of food to suite all tastes. The kids were welcomed and not pre judged as can so often happen. All staff really friendly. Extremely well priced. A great choice for a family meal.

Visited on a cold and windy Monday evening. The bar and restaurant staff were some of the most organised and friendly we have met in a long time. The carvery was a selection of three meats and an abundance of various veg. Definitely return next time in Devon.

Went along for a late lunch, we ordered gammon which we had enjoyed before. On this occasion the gammon steak was a lot thinner and as a result it was dry. The plate of food was just OK certainly not the quality we have been served before.

We had a family Christmas meal at the smugglers, a large group of 24 and the service was great and food amazing too! A group this size is always a challenge leading up to Christmas, but the staff were incredibly patient and helpful. Will be sure to return on our next trip to Devon. Awesome nut roast for vegetarians too!

Large group, so many different meals, didn't all come at once but that was because some were carvery so OK. Food was nice and tasty, hot and filling. Service was good. Great views and plenty of parking.
