Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Myself and a group of 7 other women stayed in Lynham’s hotel for two nights on 7th and 8th October 2022 for a hiking trip. From the moment we arrived on the Friday evening we were looked after so well, the manager Aoife was so helpful and obliging as we were all paying separately , some with cash and some with card and some of us had a meal included in our booking, she was so efficient and on the ball. The food in the restaurant on both nights was delicious and very reasonably priced , would highly recommend the venison sausage, complement’s to the chef. There was a function in the hotel on the Saturday night as the local football team had won the county final so the hotel was extremely busy and the staff were run off their feet but when one of our group spilled an order of drinks because she was bumped into, the manager told the barman to replace or drinks with no charge. We were also given a tray of crisps and chocolate going to bed no charge when one of our group asked for some extra milk for the room to make tea. The hotel might not be 5 star but the service is definitely 5 star, well done to all the staff ,we will definitely be back for another weekend to Lynham’s Hotel .

We had booked well in advance as we were 3 families (and 3 generations) celebrating a very special birthday and we were facilitated by having a private room. The menu was wide-ranging and accommodated ages from 5 to 80. The venison sausage and mash was unusual and local and went down very well. Very nice staff.

I stayed at the hotel for four nights. My room was spacious clean and comfy! They packed lunches for me which were ready for me in the early morning before my walks. The staff were lovely, friendly, and helpful. The meals at the restaurant were great! I appreciated when the host suggested that they could make me something off menu, for variety purposes, since I am vegetarian. To my surprise, they had plenty of veggie options for me to choose from. Veggie lasagna, all the soups are made with veggie broth: I loved the tomato soup, fried brie with side salad and chips; there was also a green Thai curry with veg which I didn't get a chance to try. Besides the restaurant there are two large lounge areas with plenty of sofas, and comfy chairs. These rooms were rarely occupied during my visit. I laid about and was able to work on my laptop with no distractions.

We stopped off here on the way home from Glendalough and left feeling ripped off and annoyed. The food took absolutely ages and only came after I asked a staff member where it was. The ploughman's platter was a huge disappointment - shop bought brown bread, 2 slices of dry ham and some cheese with a bland salad and a couple of little pots of relish for 18 euro. Veg lasagne was a bowl of slop. One person asked how our meal was but walked away before I could answer. On paying nobody asked. I won't be returning and would caution anyone against eating here unless you fancy a long wait, very average over priced food. A waste of 98 euro.

family of 5, ordered blt which was toasted flat and over done, wife ordered ham and cheese sambo, bread was stale. Kids had chicken nuggets and chips, chips were reheats, chicken dry as dust. shared wings with my wife, they were deep fried and cooked from frozen, emailed after to let them know, didn't even bother replying and that was 3 weeks ago, so now ill just leave a public review instead, lovely pub , but bad food on that day. wont be going back

We went to Lynhams for lunch today after a few years since our last visit. It’s way overpriced and the food isn’t great at all. The “famous” beef & Guinness stew was like a bowl of dog food. One of ours came out freezing cold so we sent it back to the kitchen, by the time we got it back the others at the table had finished eating & I was reluctant to eat it. The brown bread was nice though. Put some salt & pepper on the tables. We won’t be back.

Used to visit here quite a bit with family when younger. Brought my own family whilst in the area for a holiday & was really disappointed. Waitress seemed completely fed up. Food was average and expensive for what it was, €16.95 for chicken goujons & chips with a tiny dip! Sadly I won’t be returning.

Lynams is a great spot for lunch after a trip across the Dublin Mountains or a visit to Glendalough. There is carvery available on Sundays and a la carte on other days. We regularly stop off here when we are on a drive in Wicklow and have had either dinner or lunch each time

Stopped by for a late lunch after walking at nearby Glendalough. Sat outside as it was a nice sunny day, still busy even so late at lunchtime Food was good. We had the roast beef with the biggest Yorkshire pudding ever and the blue cheese and pear salad. The latter was gorgeous, only niggle was that I originally had to send it back because it was missing the cheese which is the star of the dish. Said cheese was the local Wicklow blue cheese which was so yummy, bought some to take home. Service good and nice friendly atmosphere

Went In for a carvery and straight off the bat the carvery chef was nothing but rude because I asked for a plate. Not just to me but to my three other friends, had a problem with everything and anything. Not how to treat customers at all. We were going to leave because of her behaviour. Sort it out.

This Irish pub in county wicklow was an amazing experience!! My husband and I were on a NCL cruise that docked in Dun Laoghaire. We rented a car and drove to the wicklow mountains. After a beautiful hike to the waterfall we stopped at Lynhams, had a pint, a traditional Irish pub lunch and left feeling we had experienced the best of authentic Ireland! Mary our server was kind and helpful with suggestions on what to order and answered our questions about the local flora in her lovely Irish lilt!

The perfect outdoor BBQ venue, with very tasty burgers, pulled pork fries, wings and sausages, all accompanied by nice cold drinks. A great atmosphere and lovely food. I’d love to see more places like this.

I couldn’t fault the service in Lynhams when we were there for dinner recently. However the food was average and a man who I can only assume is the manager was constantly either standing at the restaurant door looking observing everything or walking around and commenting to the staff on how they could better the service. In my opinion it was very off putting and the only way the service could have been improved was by the manager taking a more subtle approach to overseeing the restaurant. Every other member of staff was very friendly and accommodating.

We were staying in the area and decided to call into lynhams for some lunch and a few drinks. The staff were lovely and they served us pretty quickly with our drinks orders then our food. We decided on chicken ceasar salad and cajun chicken salad and both were excellent I would recommend the hotel for a good meal if you are in the area and there's not a great selection of places to eat but this is a popular one.

We arrived in for a bite to eat.The place was busy. We went and ordered pork dinners. The food was just barely warm. The pork was like it was boiled - no crackling, or flavour the mash was watery with no seasoning. Then we paid and we were charged twice for our drinks. No receipt given at time of purchase. Food very disappointing after all the reviews.
