Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been going this pub for years say last 6/7 years with my little girl and partner. Obviously happy with the place most of the time but not one to complain but last Sunday I did complain. I went for the bacon and cabbage...as staff recommended it but the portion was poor child size no veg which I taught odd I was still hungry afterwards so called very nice man over sorry never got his name bald man explained and agreed and I have to say I think it’s the staff who bring me back every 2 weeks they are top notch 10/10. Ok back to review my favourite mean went off menu few months back chicken carbonara which disappointed me a lot and last thing the price of the pint of coors has creeped up close to 7 euro now and 5 mile away under 6 euro so please no more price hikes and I will be back for sure and all in all I do recommend this place for atmosphere and staff again 10/10.More

Just finished lunch here, very impressed. Friendly staff, good quality fresh food. They managed to cook the thin steak on the steak sandwich rare while getting a good brown crust on the outside. Prices may be a bit higher than a typical Irish pub, but...it's par for the course in Greystones. We'd come back if in the area again.More

I can't believe it was five years ago that I was at the Burnaby, this time for lunch, and when I read my previous review I saw that I had similar without remembering the fact. I had the vegetarian Oriental stir fry with noodles! It...was very tasty with just a little kick. Again I had a glass of wine, and this time I was with different friends, one having the fish and chips, another the chicken Caesar salad while the third had the same stir fry. We all enjoyed our meals. The service was attentive and polite. The room was larger than I remembered and there is a beer garden out the back with access to a car park. It would be a grand place to come down to on the Dart without the hassle of parking. I will hope to return before too long.More

Terrible service, sub par drinks, whole place could do with a deep clean. Toilets could not possibly have been checked in past 3 hours. Very disappointing for a place that looks so nice from the outside.

There is a waiter working here who could possibly be the rudest and loudest person working in the service industry that I have ever met. He had the absolute gall to tell my daughter to thank him when he put down her food. I had...to explain to him that lessons on manners will come from me, the parent, and that he is so loud that she is terrifed of him and won't speak even to say thank you. He did not take this well and continued to linger around our table, creating a very uncomfortable experience. I eventually got him to go away but we will not be back. For management reading this - you know the guy I'm talking about. People don't like him and we are joining a list of local friends who won't eat in The Burnaby simply because of this guy's loud, obnoxious approach to customers.More

Ordered the catch of the day which was grilled hake and my wife got cod and chips. Two great meals that far exceeded the usual pub grub expectations. There is a really nice beer garden out the back - a great place to eat and...have a drink on a sunny day. Definitely recommended.More

Nice pub style restaurant in the centre of Greystones. Very friendly serving staff, medium price point. The lunch menu offers everything from vegetarian risotto to catch of the day, sandwiches, burgers, etc.. The fish of the day was beautifully cooked, and the chicken burger in...buttermilk battler delicious. Very enjoyable.More

My 1st time here...a very busy pub with all the rugby games in progress but service is stellar, food is delish, and staff are lovely and clearly well trained for their roles. Will definitely be back here again. Not many places these days manage to...get everything right.....well worth the money!!More

I have lived in Greystones for 4 years minus 1, recently returned. I have just stepped off the DART...dreaming of a pint..happily the Burnaby is open for another half hour. Lunch here, its about a year since I had one but for the preceding two...it was always the Lasagne and a wine....always wonderful and as comfort food entirely enjoyable. I drink with others here and sometimes solo. It is always welcoming and hospitable , as this evening. The man behind the bar, Ray, could not be more affable, professional and attentive. Their internet is open and no accusation of freeloading without purchasing . I love the Burnaby for its genuine Irishness in the gentle and convivial nature of its staff and clientele. The Burnaby is special whether you are blessed in company or by yourself in peacefulness....back now to the exceptional Guinness that Ray has brought before closing. If something is good more is better...unfortunatley, there is time only for two!!!More
