We had coffee and a sandwich which were fine but definitely nothing special. The soup, which was what we really wanted, wasn't ready yet, it was after lunchtime!! There were only a few customers but service was still slow. Surroundings are beautiful, right beside the...Meeting of the Waters.More

We picked this B & B out for a one night stay because of its setting. The setting is beautiful. We were unable to sit on the patio due to rain but it would be wonderful for relaxing. The café & restaurant were closed when...we were there on a Tuesday evening but we were directed down the road to Jacobs Well in Rathdrum. Easy short drive and excellent food. Our rooms were fine but for a Tuesday night there were several visitors who were rather loud and inconsiderate. We did not talk to management about it as we expect some of this at most of the places we stay. I would ask not to be put in a room near the upstairs entry to the balcony & refreshments table. Friendly staff in the pub and B & B check in.More

The restaurant was shabby. The food was tasteless, we ordered three different starters and three different meals, not one of them tasted good. When we left I had to have a chewing gum to get rid of the aftertaste. It was like two different places the...bar lively and friendly and the restaurant at the back the staff polite but not that friendly. It was like an overpriced badly cooked roadside cafe.More

Hi Ann, Thank you for stopping by. Your experience/view is thankfully very rare. Guests over the weekend raved about the food especially the wild game pie. The restaurant has recently been refurbished - new flooring and new windows. Clearly it won't be to everyone's taste....More

We spent a very relaxing afternoon on Sunday 30 April 2017. We drank Guiness and listened to great live music. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is live music on Sundays from 4pm until 6pm - definitely worth a visit!

We were able to walk to The Meetings from our B & B, and enjoy a beer after a busy day. It is a nice out of the way spot, and glad we stumbled upon this historic place from Thomas Moore's life.

We stopped off here for Sunday lunch it's a casual environment and that's all we were looking for but the atmosphere and the food was not so nice. When ordering we mentioned that we required a gluten free substitute as part of the meal and...when the meal arrived we discovered it contained a lot of soya sauce and therefore not gluten free. We shared a starter of chicken wings which were edible but not the tastiest and certainly not an attractive meal, pale wings with just a drizzle of sauce. My main was a Thai red curry, certainly not so authentic. It was quite spicy but also quite oily and I felt lacked a lot of flavour. I ended up eating my unsatisfactory meal alone and was unable to share as it also contained soya. Food again was edible, but so unfortunate that food quality was poor for the price and also the sauce for curry was so oily and lacked flavour. Also it's unfortunate that restaurants and staff are not so helpful in certain places when people have allergies. This was certainly the case here. I love food and love eating out, so frustrating when you have to pay for something of low quality with little flavour and one person is still hungry.More
