Outstanding - best fish and chips I ever had

What a gem this place is! The most superb plate of fish and chips I’ve ever had. As value for money we were shocked by how reasonably priced Partridge’s is - truly wonderful and not to be missed. Congrats to great kitchen team and the waitresses too who made us very welcome. Brilliant. Just brilliant. John & Philo

Late Lunch at Partridge Bistro

Dropped into Partridge Bistro on Friday 5th Nov for a late lunch. Received a warm and friendly greeting, had our contacts details taken and Covid cert checked. Had the open salmon sandwich that was delicious, freshly prepared and well presented , my dining partner has the chicken abs stuffing wrap, (maybe add some more stuffing or offer a small portion on the side). Overall a very enjoyable experience and we will be back.

Lovely experience. We arrived as a group of 3 and where efficiently and politely shown to our table. As quick as 10 minutes later our food was brought out to us, BLT, Chicken stuffing wrap and a ham & cheese toasted sandwich. Everything was very tasty and eaten. We then ordered 2 slices of lemon meringue pie, and two of the largest slices we’d ever seen was served to us. On the whole lovely food and dessert and friendly and efficient staff. Prices would be what you’d expect to pay.

Food is nice and some of the staff are friendly. However the staff are not managing social distancing queue very well. Service is quite slow and staff served food with masks down past their nose and one staff member even had her mask pulled down all the way.

Slightly Revolted

Went for breakfast with friends this morning and the service was not up to its usual standard despite the number of staff on duty. The food we received was a good as ever but I was disgusted to see one of the waiting staff on two separate occasions pick icing from a piece of cake on display and eat it. If that is what is happening to food on display in the front it makes me wonder what is happening out of sight

Very disappointed when I visited

Very disappointed when I visited this place today. The staff need to be brought up to scratch on hygiene in the light of the corona virus. I was disgusted just watching one of the girls behind the counter, she was texting on her phone then scratched her nose then proceeded to pick up a mug with her fingers inside the mug! Without even washing her hands. I suggest the staff should wear rubber gloves if serving food. I would actually be afraid to go back here again after this experience.

Chowder wow lovely

Two of us ate here on a very rainy Monday lunchtime. We were hoping for a warming tasty soup. Job done definitely. I had an excellent tasty creamy chowder with chunky fish pieces , other half had carrots and coriander soup , both served with lovely wholesome whole meal bread

Very pleasant experience

Stopped off in Gorey early on a cold and miserable morning looking for breakfast. Most places were shut so was delighted to find somewhere open. Was pleasantly surprised at a very tasty and well presented breakfast served by very efficient and welcoming staff. Well done and keep up the good work.

Wonderful!

We went here for a lunch and although it was rather crowded, the food was delicious. I had the Tuscan Chicken pasta, and could only eat half of it because the portion was so large. I loved this place, wonderful food and the staff are very friendly and attentive. We will be back!

Poor customer service

We recently went to this cafe, which is a place we regularly visit. It was 45 minutes before closing and no seats were available. A member of staff said it may be a 10 minute wait, so we waited. A few minutes later another member of staff shouted across the shop to say there wouldn’t be a table for at least 20 minutes and that the cafe was closing at 5pm anyway. She may as well have said ‘Can you leave, you’re not wanted here’. Two minutes later two tables became free. The staff then proceeded to show 2 people behind us in the queue one of the tables at which point we walked out. With so many other great cafes in Gorey this is one we won’t be going back to.

Wonderfully friendly and delicious

My youngest daughter and I had breakfast on Saturday morning and it was delicious. The staff are so friendly and inviting, seating wasn’t a problem and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. They have a wonderful range of cakes also, the carrot cake is scrumptious!

Rude staff

Visited twice during Summer months. Restaurant closes at 5pm, kitchen closes at 4pm according to the restaurant advertisement. Went one day at 3:40pm. Was told we could have a table but we wouldn’t be served food. Visited a second time and staff were very rude. Dismissed us before we even asked for a table. Told us they’ve no room. However restaurant had plenty of tables available. Will not visit again, will not recommend

Good Food! Shame about the toilets!

The food is very good. The rear dining area is cold, just a bunch of tables and chairs, no coziness or ambience. The main thing my wife didn't like are the shared bathroom facilities. When she emerged from the cubicle, there was a man just standing by the sink facing her as she came out. There was no one else in the bathroom at the time. Will definitely go back for the food, but won't use the toilet facilities.

Felt like a snub.

You have to wait for a table even if some are empty which was the case when we visited. We asked could we have the table at the window only to be told “that one is gone”. We didn’t argue or comment. Ordered our meal which was nice. Left with no “tip”. Won’t be back.

Fantastic food and cute setting

Tue cafe is very cute and has some lovely artisan food for sale. It’s quite spacious inside. The food was great and lots of it. Interesting combination of flavours that worked really well. Overall would definitely recommend!
