Has a gorgeous meal in McAlpins recently. Always love their fresh seafood. There are 2 sitting now so we booked for the 8pm sitting. We had a lovely river view table for a group of 7 of us. Felt very safe there as the tables...were spaced nicely and covid friendly. One of the group is allergic to shell fish so they kindly altered the fish platter to accommodate this with no fuss ! Wine was delicious and reasonably priced. Can't wait for my next visit !More

We started with crab claws which were cooked perfectly in garlic butter and served with delicious home made brown bread.....that was after a complimentary salad bowl! Although I was tempted to order monk fish, I really had to go for the seafood platter which was...as tasty as ever with a good variety of fish, shellfish and crustaceans! Desserts looked fantastic but I was so full I just couldn’t fit it in. Add to this the friendly staff who are welcoming and it all makes for a lovely evening.More

They don't take bookings, so rang ahead to see how busy it was, told there would be plenty of tables in approx 30 mins. When we arrived I went into restaurant, I went in to see about a table and was told another 30 mins,...as we had driven a long distance so we said fine. We were told to go for a walk or bring a drink outside, so we went for a walk. We came back 30 mins later and we waited and waited and waited. Approx another 15 mins chap said "the next table is yours"! Another 5/10 mins went by and a table became vacant and was cleaned BUT then IT WAS GIVEN TO ANOTHER FAMILY. I asked what was going on to be told "I told her you were next, sorry nothing I can do". So we obviously left. Don't go here if you're not know, as your table will be given away to people who've just arrived but are "friends". Very unfair and very unhelpful. Go elsewhere.More

Beautifully located Seafood bar/restsurant right on the water. Staples are the lovely seafood pie and tasty mussels and prawns. They have simple but wonderful pan-fried specials at the weekend. Last weekend it was Turbot and it was delicious and beautifully cooked.

First visited late last year and it has become our favourite restaurant. Staff are the nicest people ever and the food is delicious. The veggie bake is my absolute favourite, lots of flavour and the portion is huge. Love it :)

We have been coming here on and off for 25 years. Never fails to impress. Wonderful location, ambiance and food! My wife can't eat pink fish but there was no issues to make a special seafood pie with white fish only. I had the prawn...starter which was excellent and scallops for my main. We'll keep coming back. Stop in Jack Meades along the way !More
