We visited Barron's twice in one week simply because it was so delicious and the food was excellent. On both occasions we went for the coronation chicken on a blaa. A traditional Waterford type of bread and on soda bread. We will be back!!

Experienced a great time at this quaint restaurant/bakery and all the group I was with thoroughly enjoyed the food and setting also. Our server "Aussie Ashley" was so welcoming and friendly to chat with us in the upstairs section and her recommendations went down a...treat. Highly recommend anything on the menu and will definitely be back again.More
Overrated and underwhelmed is how I feel about this place. I have been in on many occasions to buy their genuine sourdough bread. On this occasion, I brought my 2 children for a late lunch (around 3pm) I was very surprised to be told very...curtly that they are only serving a sandwich and I would need to hurry as they were finishing up soon. They had seated us before this snappy warning was issued. I would have left there and then only my 2 kids were promised something nice. The toasted sandwich was mean and bland. The service was sour and the prices are far too high for the quality.More
Stopped here for coffee before heading back to Dublin for coffee but ended up having lunch and buying dinner and buns to bring home!! A delicious restaurant with super efficient staff. M x
I enjoyed a delicious fish pie & salad at Barrons last week. Its a charming cafe, great food, very good value & lovely staff. I'm lucky to have bought a brack that I am still enjoying. If you are passing through Cappoquin you have to...stop here. If travelling nearby it's certainly worth making a special detour for this very special cafe. I've always enjoyed down through the years. I hadn't been there for awhile & am so happy it'd even better.More
Dropped in today after taking our Grandson to mellery. Was taken out to the courtyard 2 tables of 2 which was perfect for us. Girl that served us was lovely and took our order promptly. The BLT was to die for bacon was so tasty...and the Blaa was lightly toasted daughter had an open chicken husband had the knockanore cheese and ham toasty. Grandson had a cookie. From start to finish it was a pleasure will definitely be calling again. Treat yourself and make sure to visit for good service and tasty food.More
Very good coffee and most tasty cakes. Everything is baked on the premises and is fresh. The Blaas (bread rolls with attitude) are to die for. Well worth a stop and is located opposite an otstanding craft shop.
I had a rather disappointing visit here. I was particularly taken aback at their poor Covid-19 practices. There is no table service so to order you must go to the counter. There are no menus, only one chalkboard behind the same small counter. This all...results in a lot of ‘traffic’ around the cafe and people standing in very close proximity inside the door. A lot of very young staff, some quite surly with no obvious person in charge. Limited selection of food, I got the last slice of quiche at 12.50 which, in my opinion, is very early in the day to be running out of menu options. Very poor selection of cakes, I settled on a slice of coffee gateau which was ‘yesterday’s bake’ at best.More

Amazing bread, I drive 25 miles just to buy this and freeze for the week. Nothing else near as good as it around
In August of 2019 I was in Cappoquin for a family reunion. Turns out some of my family had worked at the bakery. We had a great tour with Esther and saw the ovens and whole process. All I can say is go take the...tour and eat the bread!More
Would recommend this nice Cafe for a lunch, nice soup, but very goog toasted sandwich. Inside modern l, clean and nicely appointed. good place for a pit stop.
We went for a light lunch are were most impressed with the decor, attitude of the staff and the whole experience. The lavatories were neat and clean. The food was vwery fresh and the tea was just what we needed after walking the Greenway.
I went with my family to Barrons Bakery and we all agreed it was a delicious lunch. Lovely fresh food, excellent service and good value.
My family and I visited Barron's Bakery. We live in America but our ancestors were from Cappoquin and worked at the bakery. What a wonderful tour of the bakery we had. And of course we had to buy bread and confections. I bought the book...and am already halfway through. We LOVED it!More
Took long time to order at counter as didn’t seem to have any type of system, waited an age for breakfast and tea coffee to arrive, breakfast average at best but bread was nice! Bit pricey for what was in the breakfast, not even a...grilled tomato to try brighten it up! Maybe got them on a bad day but seemed very unwelcoming so wouldn’t returnMore
