Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Disappointed.. I also want to complain at the till because I would not want to make  scene.  This is a very small restaurant with no privacy The Cod was absolutely bland. Coleslaw really nice.  A roll that was supposed to be sour dough was not...and 6 prawns far from king for 18 euro was ridiculous and nothing to accompany the roll except for some leaves and dressing  The chowder was also bland and although the people I was with found seafood in their chowder, I barely had any.  I was excited to eat at your restaurant today I only had an apple for breakfast.  Such a shame because decor, cleanliness and staff were great. The food nice but I could not stretch for more than that. I asked my partner to pay because I would have to give my opinion and I did not want to as I said in the beginning. I am not trying to be awful, just disappointed.  I did email the owner and said exactly as above. She offered to mail a voucher to allow us a second chance. I accepted the over, thinking maybe it was just a bad day. However the voucher never appeared. I won't get the second chance to here again but I am more than good about that.More

Called into Eithna's in the morning for some gorgeous coffee and quite seriously one of the nicest scones I've ever tasted. Eithna was so lovely and the restaurant is spotless. Would definitely recommend 👌

Went in for a fish and chip and a burger and chip takeaway and was charged €37, absolutely shocking. I would understand if we were sitting in and the food was good, the food was mediocre at best and whoever prepares your fish needs to...learn how to debone them, I was getting bones every bite. Will be making sure I tell anybody who mention the place to avoid. We were charged your restaurant price for take away and over charged by €5 at that. Picture attached of the €15 burgerMore

We stopped by today Sunday for a snack. We had a coffee and a hot chocolate accompanied by a traybake called a Powerball which was a lovely mixture of sultanas, oats and seaweed. Was delicious served with cream. The restaurant also serves meals - it...was very busy with a quick turnaround despite so many people coming through. There are tables upstairs and downstairs and a few outside. Very convenient to the harbour.More

Thought the place was a bit overpriced, felt like sitting in a kitchen of a restaurant, banging coffee equipment, etc, found out later that upstairs is the real restaurant

Food served indoors in a leaking cardboard box, chips in a bag which tasted exactly like frozen chips from the supermarket. Even if a place does takeaway if you eat indoors they could provide a plate. Prawns tasteless in lots of butter and well overpriced...at €15.More

I visited Eithna’s By the Sea on a number of occasions last week whilst on holiday in Mullaghmore. The restaurant is located on the seafront with great outdoor space to relax and watch the world go by. I had the mussels, fish and chips and...scones, which were all fantastic. I also think the food is reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of what they serve.More

We tried to get seated with a starving baby that needed fed. Unlike every other business in Ireland in current times, there was no waiting point at the front of the business to check COVID certs and choose a table. We stepped inside to figure...out what to do and signs on the wall said "NO TABLE SERVICE, ORDER AT COUNTER". We took a table and drew up a high chair to start feeding baby. I went to the counter to order drinks and brought my wife's phone so I could show both our COVID certs. We weren't asked for them. As we sat with our drinks and fed baby, a member of staff came over and was extremely rude that we had sat down without her direction and without COVID tracking. We were made to feel extremely unwelcome after paying for drinks and after getting the impression that this business was not checking for COVID certs. She also conflated the complaint about COVID certs by asking why we had sat at a table for 4 when there were 3 of us (the pram needed room) and asked if we were ordering food (food was not being served at this time). Sort out your COVID procedures and learn some basic customer service etiquette.More
