Lovely food & service

We ate at Kelly’s steakhouse for one of our evenings meals as part of our hotel package. We were seated straight away and asked about drinks. Fresh warm bread was brought to our table while waiting for food. A lot of the meals are available gluten friendly which is brill! Ordered the burger with gluten free bun and wow! Dessert was a bit on the pricey side, I got choco & coconut tart which I had the previous night in the charter bar at a little cheaper. We shared a bottle of white (Sauvignon blanc) and it was lovely. Overall service was great, waiters very helpful and polite would return. Tip: if staying in hotel and have an evening meal pick Kelly’s steakhouse instead of charter bar.

Tale of the two Jack's

I feel obliged to write this review. Its very rare to experience customer service at this level. From as early as booking it was incredible. The venue is lovely and packed with people all enjoying different dishes and drinks. But it is the service which pushes it over the edge. We were treated like royalty from the minute we walked in and the food and drinks arrived in good time and were very appetising. Special mention to Julie and the two Jack's. Both the guys over numerous times checking on us but unfortunately they have the same name so hard to single one out. We will definitely make a return visit.

Ordered from their takeaway menu and it was very good. Easy and efficient, placed order in restaurant for 10oz rib eye medium for takeout and it was perfect, steak cooked exactly how I liked, chips good and pepper sauce was very tasty. Will try again when restaurants are fully open as on this occasion they only were doing dine in for patrons of the adjacent hotel.

Terrible service and food

We have been to the steakhouse plenty of times and always had a great meal, this time was a real disappointment. There was eight of us at the meal celebrating an engagement and it was a real shame the food and service let us down. The food was cold and it was all served seperatly so we ate at different times. The dessert which we have had before was literally all marshmallows there was no brownie. We waited over 30 mins to be served and after this we will think twice before going there again.

Not worth the money, Not value for money, Overpriced…

The experience started off by myself and my partner being brought to our table before it was ready, fair enough I thought and we were sent back to the entrance, not a bother. Eventually brought to our table we had a lovely table but with no evidence of the tables being wiped or sanitised before we had been seated and I saw this throughout the night people being seated just after another group of people had left, with the rising covid numbers I thought places such as this establishment would pay more attention to the hygiene side of things, but obviously I was wrong. Regardless, we were handed out menus but asked about 4 different times from different waiters and waitresses what would we like to order, preferably I think one person should be managing a table as it can be tiring when just wanting to look at the menu and decide without being hassled. The food arrived rather swiftly after ordering so I commend the staff for that, very good timing with the food especially when the restaurant is relatively busy. The food was nice nothing special, I had ordered a rib eye steak but I think I could find a better and more filling alternative in my local Lidl. After the initial bombardment of waiters and waitresses asking to take my order I did not hear from them for the rest of the night not checking up on ourselves which I found to be noteworthy. Overall good food, slightly overpriced for what you get, poor service and staff communication I would think. Either too attentive or not at all attentive.

Booked Kelly's Steakhouse for a meal to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were greeted and shown to our seats by the restaurant manager who was very welcoming. The table was quiet small as it was one of the booth's and the menus are quiet large so we had to lay the menu on the clean cutlery. Our orders were taken quiet quickly and the starters arrived in no time at all, the starters were tasty and a good portion size. For mains I ordered rib eye steak, this lacked flavour, had no seasoning , it was served with 2 mushrooms and crispy shredded onions and a portion of homecooked fries, it is very overpriced and I would question if it was even a 10oz not that it mattered as I only ate half of it as it was pointless, I can also confirm that the lamb shanks were like rubber. We mentioned I to the waiter that the food was okay at best and he relayed this to the manager, the manager responded to our complaint and in fairness deducted the price of 3 cokes off the bill and didn't charge for my daughters main as she didn't eat it. As it was my wife's birthday the manager arranged for a takeaway dessert on the house, this was cheesecake and again lacked any flavour and ended up in the bin. The head chef should have to face customers when the food is so dreadful, the book stops with them for letting out such substandard food. All in all we couldn't wait to leave and it spoiled the evening. The food use to be good in the Midlands park between the charter bar and Kelly's but on a few occasions since the reopening it's gone downhill. We will not be back.

Myself my partner our daughter and my partners parents (4 adults 1 child), My partners parents stayed in Midland park hotel for 1 week. So we decided to book a table in Kelly's steak house one of the evenings, it was nice my partner and his father both had T bone steaks they come with chips , crispy onions , mushrooms. Myself and my mother-in-law had pasta carbonara, our daughter had sausage and chips. I had a bottle of coke and everyone else just had water to drink. We all had dessert, 3 portions of ice cream and one banoffee and one lemon tart. It was all very nice and the staff were very pleasant and the restaurant was a nice place and very clean. The only negative was I think it was a little over priced, the bill was €175 So with a tip it was €200 , the steak meals were €42 each and the carbonara were €20 each and I think the deserts were €9 each. All in all it was nice, but just left me a little bit underwhelmed.

my husband brought my daughter here for her 13th birthday as a treat.i had made the booking online,and had asked for a birthday candle to b put on the dessert for her as surprise. they enjoyed a lovely meal and the staff were lovely. however they failed to put a candle on the dessert which makes me wonder why do they leave a box for special notes to be added. my husband was very disappointed at this ,for a special meal.

We enjoyed our starters and the brown bread was delicious. However our main courses were extremely disappointing. Firstly the chips were just like any old frozen chips from a supermarket , in fact the were horrible. It was the steaks however that were the real disappointment. We both had ribeye (30 euros each) They were very very tough and full of gristle. We each were only able to eat half and we brought the rest home to the dog. We told the waitress who in fairness told the manager who spoke to us and apologised. He refunded us the cost of one of the steaks which we appreciated. However we would have preferred to enjoy our steaks. This restaurant advertises itself as a steakhouse so they need to make sure that each steak they serve it up to standard.

Bad Salad

The steaks we ordered were done to our expectations the beef was of quality. However, the salad was not edible. Veggies tasted and looked old and leathery. All we got after pointing this out to the waiter was a sorry. Oh and the Prosecco was served lukewarm in a tiny bottle. We were dining without reservation and ordered a bottle of wine to to with the dinner. While we were still working on it the waiter asked us to please move to the bar. We'd appreciated a notice of the limited time when we asked if there's a table available. Place looks fancy is a pretty pricy restaurant and we would expect all ingredients to be fresh.

Frozen dessert

Had a meal here over Christmas and was very disappointed. The order for my main wasn't submitted so I had to wait until it was cooked by which time everyone else's food was gone. The roulade I had for dessert was more like a semi fredo consistency due to the fact it clearly hadn't been defrosted thoroughly. Have always enjoyed kellys in the past as a treat as it is expensive but will not return when I paid a high price for poor quality food and service.

Worth the money!

Met a friend here for dinner and drinks a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed! We had the garlic mushrooms and loaded potato skins to start, both were so tasty and the portions were huge, we were nearly full from those alone! I had the baby back ribs for mains and my friend had the chicken supreme, again huge portions. I'd usually only get 2 courses but the food was so good, I had to try a dessert so got the apple crumble. Staff were very attentive without being overbearing and the atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant. Prices were a little on the higher end but you get what you pay for in my opinion! I can't wait to go back and bring my family and other friends.

Meal for two

Visited kelly’s tonight and don’t usually leave reviews but felt the need after tonight’s meal. We arrived a little late (we have a new baby and it was out 1st night out). Having arrived and been given the menus my wife who is still a little nervous about covid was concerned that a guy close to us was coughing a lot. She asked about the possibility of changing tables. Although the restaurant was very busy this was sorted out with no fuss. After our starters my wife got a call to say the new baby was not settling and she needed to return home to feed her. She left for 30 mins to go home and the waitress said she would inform the kitchen. When my wife returned our mains were served up. I have no doubt that these were cooked freshly and were not kept warm under lights for 30/40 mins The food was delicious and the staff were so accommodating. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely evening and not making us feel like we were causing them nothing but hassle. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Great night in Kelly's Steakhouse

My fiance brought me tonight for my birthday. I had no real expectations but my god the chef and staff had other ideas. From the minute we arrived we were pampered and they were unbelievably attentive. The food came out on time and perfectly cooked. I had a monkfish coconut curry that was beyond tasty and my other half went for the fillet which was cooked exactly rhe way she asked. Cheescakes and meringue deserts topped off one the most honest and tasty meals i have ever had. Well done all .

I'd highly recommend this restaurant. My husband and l ordered the 10oz ribeye steak. lt was perfectly cooked and the compliment of prawns was to die for. The chef came out to us to receive his compliments which we were touched by. Fantastic restaurant, well done!
