Couples night out. The menu is limited but the food is very good. The fillet steak is a very safe bet, always good here. Deserts expensive but again, tasty!

A solid good food restaurant. Had an early 6.15 table menu limited but what is on there is quality, staff polite and professional rather than welcoming and friendly. Bill was €140 without a tip, three starters one main, bottle of house red one coffee, one...dessert. The main was the special turbot. At 38euro was expecting more.More
Hi Helen, Thanks a lot for your review. It will be shared with our team. We are glad you’ve enjoyed the food and service. Just to confirm that the halibut is priced €32.00.
Had at ask for a sharper knife to cut my fillet steak…very tough which was rather disappointing. A slightly sharper knife was furnished rather than addressing the problem of why did I have a tough fillet..was cooked medium well rather than medium rare..There was an...odour in the restaurant like an issue in the toilets tonight….unpleasant. Smiling is nice by the way , it can help the atmosphere and make us feel welcome rather than a burden. Food and wine fine but disappointing for the price.More
We are very sorry you felt disappointed with your food and wine. We will share your comments with the Chef. Thank you for sharing as it is important to us.
What a quaint little restaurant in the heart of naas, food was exceptional as always , all the great choices on the menu , lots of fresh fish ,
Thank you very much Tommy. Your review is very much appreciated.
We turned up without a reservation and we were very kindly accommodated outside with our two dogs. Aline (not sure if that was her name) went over and above and was a delight and food was fab. Good ending to a bad day and will...be back. Thank you.More
As a family we went out for Sunday lunch to celebrate a special occasion and VdC did not disappoint! The service, food & cocktails were just fantastic. Each course was nicer than the next, the flavours from every mouthful were just gorgeous. The prawns and...hake were so fresh, the side salad was one of the nicest I have ever had. The desserts were so tasty … we each tried a different one, once tasted, everyone wanted to hold on to their own as they were individually divine. Usually, I wouldn’t expect too much more than the usual Sunday Lunch in any restaurant but it was the most wonderful surprise to have a magnificent meal and a wonderful experience on a sunny afternoon in Naas. I am looking forward to our return visit already ! Highly recommended.More
Delicious mid-week treat to celebrate my husbands birthday. It was sunny day and so we sat outside in the welcoming and comfortable patio area. Service was friendly and prompt, there was no hanging about which was great. Highlight of the meal was a generous starter...of shrimp and lobster, the portion was large and enough for the two of us. It was packed full of lobster and shrimp offset by the crispy watermelon, lime and avocado surrounded by perfectly cooked pastry. I would actually go back just for that starter. The mains were pan-fried hake cooked to perfection, with a croquette and large white asparagus and fillet steak , again perfectly cooked with a tangy peppercorn sauce. After the mains, a small birthday cake, complete with candle arrived as I let it slip it was celebration to the waitress whilst we were ordering. We were not expecting anything so it was lovely surprise - no-ones ever too old for cake and a candle. Finally we had a trio of desserts all very different and a coffee to follow. We found the food, cooking, and presentation exceptional , the service delightful and would highly recommend Vie De Chateaux for a lunch time treat.More

As a rule of thumb I don’t leave bad reviews. I understand and appreciate all that goes into running your own business. However, after a lot of internal dialogue, I have to post this. First things first, Anca who works in this restaurant is top...class. Frank (the owner) based on my experience does not possess the same emotional intelligence or customer service skills as Anca. He is lucky to have her. I booked a room for my child’s christening a number of months ago with Frank. He clearly doesn’t have any organisation skills because the date that I booked, and he agreed to, was booked for a staff party. I only found this out because I called into the restaurant to go through the menu etc a week before my baby’s important day. It was then that Anca informed me this was not possible. Obviously I was panicked and upset as I didn’t think I could get an alternative venue at such short notice. I had guests coming from abroad and I had told them about this great French restaurant that I had dined in before. Anca pulled out all the stops and offered to open the premises for me. By then I had sourced another restaurant. It speaks volumes for me that the man that I agreed the date with, and the costs, decided not to call me to discuss this fiasco or to apologise. He has ensured that I will never give him my business again, nor will I recommend his restaurant as an establishment to have a professional and relaxed experience. It’s a big thumbs down from me.More
We were looking for somewhere nice to eat on the way home from a trip to round off the couple of days. Received a couple of recommendations from a fried as we disembarked from the plane and promptly booked a table for two. Well, what...a fabulous surprise we had!! - we both had the prawns in a white wine sauce - this was just delightful, light and flavoursome and pitched perfectly not to overpower the prawns. The bread and high grade olive oil was a lovely touch too. We had fillet steaks with a side of salad and sautéd onions - beautifully cooked and presented - rare means rare which is super and the pepper sauce was super - I detected a subtle flavour of brandy from it. Normally I avoid deserts but in this occasion I indulged - and I was so glad - really super, balanced and flavoursome without being “sweet”. Staff are all excellent and know what they are about - all the usual, but sometimes missing these days, of serving ladies first etc flowed well. Oh, and the wine list - well that’s worth looking at, superb selection of fine wine !More
Lunch for 2 on a breezy February day turned into a veritable feast. From the moment we arrived and were greeted, to being handed our coats on the way out, everything about this restaurant exudes class. Beautiful fresh bread arrived while we studied the menus...and we both chose different starters and mains. This is what we do when we're dining out to see the extent of the kitchen art. I had moules served in escargot dishes while my wife had scallops We followed that with Turbot which was cooked to perfection and lamb also out of the top drawer For dessert we shared a cafe gourmand and just ordered a second coffee We will be back for certainMore
Wednesday 3rd, January last minute booking was facilitated by Franck. Lovely room and welcoming atmosphere. I had the Quail, foie gras & pistachio terrine to start, amazing texture, flavour and serving. The main was Venison and punched with some more flavour! Extra servings of the...bread were not a problem and wolfed down! Will definitely be back for more soon!More
Very good meal, lovely fresh crunchy bread, really nice ham turkey croquette starter, amazing sides, very good service. Only let down was less than tender thin fillet steak. Looked like a supermarket purchase. Very well seasoned though.
Excellent lunch. What a treat. Enjoy a nice lunch with great tastes and great service. Mussels starter is a great idea and very tasty. Bread is perfection. Turbot is amazing with great sauce.
