Throughout the entire evening from 7/30-10 pm,we saw only one man running the whole show, Brought the menus, took the orders, serving 6 other tables, bringing the drinks?. The food was disappointing, chicken biriani is my favorite. The rice was warm the chicken in the rice was cold and...definitely not cooked fresh,it was very dry.The accompanying sauce/soup was cold,I sent it back to the kitchen, about 10 minutes later it came back,by then everything else was cold.It appeared everything was cooked and reheated on demand. It was very expensive for poor quality food, will not be going back The name of the restaurant now is MantraMore

Would love to return to this restaurant as the food was great but don't think I could handle the waitress again. Awful customer service and so rude . I simply wanted to go out for a nice, relaxing dinner with my friends and was subjected...to the worst attitude ever. She was given me a cold plate for my dinner and used humming voices to asked me get that cold plate which was got it from my starter. Won't go back and will not recommend.More

We were the very regular customer in mayur restaurant and always delighted enjoying the food and service there. But recently they changed the new management and new name to mantra restaurant. We went there today and felt very disappointed. The foods is fine. But the...service was absolutely terrible. Never have this bad experience. First the waitress pass the menu to us when we haven’t reached our table, and let us bring the menu to the seat ourself. Secondly we need to open the bottle of wine ourself which she said that she doesn’t know how to open it. We went there at 9.45pm for late dinner. They closed at 11pm. While we still enjoying our wine, she starting to swept the floor at 10.45 beside our table. Finally when we want to pay the bill by cash, she said they are not accepted cash but only credit card because the machine was broken. This is the first time I heard a restaurant doesn’t want to accept the cash. I always heard that the credit card machine was broken but never heard that the cash not accepted. That waitress seem doesn’t enjoying her job. Sadly to see a new management with good food but terrible service. Never go there again.More

This has recently changed management and name so it is no longer called mayur. It was good as it’s previous name and we enjoyed it although it is often uncomfortably quiet. However we went recently and noticed the name change etc. The food is still...reasonably good, but the waiter serving is was ridiculously rude. I have never ever come across someone as disinterested in their job, he was so rude and dismissive, he even dropped a knife on my brother and just shrugged. Absolutely don’t recommend there are loads of restaurants in naas where they actually welcome your custom and don’t make you feel like they wish you weren’t there.More

We were waiting for 10 minutes to be seated despite there only being one table used. Got seated, order was taken and then the wait began. Ordered two starters and two mains. Order had to be checked 20 minutes in. Despite this, only one starter...arrived, the other one had been forgotten about. Walked out after 45 minute waiting in an empty restaurant. Do not recommend.More

We had visitor over with us for the weekend. We booked our table on Thursday to eat on Saturday. Booking accepted and no issues. We were really looking forward to this given all the good reviews. So, Saturday comes and we go for drink before...dinner. We walk over to Mayur 1 minute before our booking time to be greeted by a padlocked door and a miserable sign “Closed for tonight - Big sorry”. We didn’t receive any phone call or notification to say that there was a problem. We were left red faced and embarrassed with our visitors with the potential prospect of having no where to get dinner if the town was busy. Thankfully, a superb new Indian called Amaya saved the day. Please see my review on this excellent restaurant. Needles to say, Mayur have ruined any chance of us going back there as it appears to be a rank amateur operation.More

Decided to go here following reading some good reviews on tripadvisor. On arrival the restaurant was almost empty yet we were asked to wait for a table all the while looking at empty tables in front of our eyes. After a 20 minute wait for...a table we were seated, Another 20 minutes passed and some water was brought to our table. Some more time passed and we were hoping that sometime soon a menu would be forthcoming but alas no. Again we patiently waited in anticipation of maybe some popadoms coming our way but nothing arrived. 45 minutes into our stay we decided to up and leave. On exiting I mentioned our plight to a staff member who was standing looking in our direction for most of our stay we were leaving and was given a reply of " I have other customers to serve". So needless to say we left and will not return. There are plenty of places to eat in Naas which are only too happy to serve you this however is not one of them. The service we received was deplorable and was made worse as there were not even too many people there no excuse for this level of service.More

We attended the machinery show at Punchestown and travelled over to here base on its rating on here. Nice enough place based up a flight of stairs. Although we were the only customers, food arrived timely, was a bit small with portions even though we...thought we had ordered way too many dishes. Waiter was quite knowledgeable about football, and did talk about it a bit. But was ok for a meal. Dont think I would rush back.More

Attended with our family at Mayur Portlaoise on the 15th of February without a booking and the staff were excellent. The restaurant was very busy being Valentines weekend but they kindly found us a table and were very attentive to our two boys. The food was...excellent very flavoursome and we really enjoyed our meal. There was a nice atmosphere and the portion size was generous. I also enjoyed a lovely coffee to end the meal and look forward to returning again.More

Just had a 3 course early bird dinner in Mayur and did it deliver, yes, yes, yes. Friendly staff, great food, we had the platter to start, and chicken tikka masala for main. They gave us a free naan, poppadoms and a baileys drink to finish, I mean...come on they treat customers like royalty. And what Indian would give you free rice with your meal in Dublin, it’s always extra. Hats off the these guys, you have to go it’s so tasty. Definitely recommend!!!!!More

We've been living in the Naas area for nearly 3 years now and I have no idea why we have never eaten in Mayur before, but today we did and all I can say is WOW!! The restaurant itself is lovely with beautiful Indian artwork...and a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. We opted for the early bird which at a price of under €20 (including a drink of your choice) was great value. This included the most delicious mixed platter to start which I adored as I love to try little tastes of everything. For mains, we both opted for chicken Madras which was beautifully spicy and rich, served with fluffy pilau rice and a garlic naan. Lemon sorbets rounded the meal off very nicely and a lovely complimentary Bailey's was an extra little treat. We've decided to make Mayur our date night restaurant and I'm already looking forward to our next visit!More
