Stopped off for lunch on way home from Rathwood. Had delicious soup and coffee and hubby had Burrito. Food was so tasty and staff very friendly. Great menu and picked up delicious coffee cake for takeaway. Will definitely be back.

Went here a few times and always got great food, coffee is very weak. I Recently ordered and was told to collect in an hour, on collection they didn’t have my order after me driving 20 mins to collect it, then refused to take the...blame for no order being ready and said that they can make up my order and it would talk 20 mins, I didn’t get an apology and refused to wait as I had already waited over an hour. Their excuse was that they were very busy and must of lost the order, if they can’t handle the orders coming in they need to hire more staff, I shouldn’t have to wait over an hour because they can’t keep up with the orders coming through. Beautiful food and amazing coffee! This cafe is worth a detour to Castledermot if you’re in the area. We were takeaway customers cause of restrictions, but when they are able to open tables again, we will be back.

Lovely little spot for brunch with a nice cozy atmosphere. The hash here is to die for, definitely worth trying and some nice homemade jams and cakes for purchase

Staff were friendly, nothing against them they're doing their best :) However, food was underwhelming at best and overpriced. 3 dense pancakes were 9€ , and they were hard to swallow. A tiny handful of chips was 3€. The soup was half full. I've heard...so many good things so I was rather disappointed.More

Eat here when get the chance, lovely food, quick service, love the bacon hash & pancakes and there coffees and cakes are also fab. Defiantly favorite place to go for breakfast / lunch / coffee

This is one of the best kept secrets in Kildare. The brunch and staff here are fantastic. Avocado Toast , bacon hash is yum yum. Always greeted with a smile and they make all the food from scratch right in front of you. Great value...for money and highly recommend.More

I am literally never out of this place. Breakfast options are amazing with the bacon hash being our favourite. Sauteed potatoes, caramelized onion bacon and chorizo with 2 poached eggs and hollandaise to finish...amazing!! Lunch my favourite is Mexican chicken wrap, something I wouldn't be...a fan of anywhere else as i hate processed chicken you get in sandwiches but it's super fresh, poached tender chicken, fresh avocado and salsa...yum!! Club bap a close second.The chocolate biscuit cake is amazing and I think they have recently won best barista in the area, cappuccino topped off with actually flake!!The staff make this place, nothing is too much trouble, very family fiendly and some really creative chefs. You won't be disappointed....unless you can't get a seat 🙂More

We took a quick detour off the M9 to find somewhere for lunch. With impressive TripAdvisor reviews we stopped here. The menu choice is well selected - there’s something for most people. Allergens are well marked. We enjoyed the vegetable hash and the hash special...(curry). Well pleased with this cafe and reasonably priced. Pleasant staff as well.More

The food here is always amazing and the service is quick. Would recommend all the Hashes for something different and really tasty. They are quite generous with portion size as well which is always a plus!

Came across this by chance last week. Gorgeous little spot. Quite understated from the outside but so lovely inside. The staff were second to none, friendly, smiley and very efficient. The food was gorgeous. Very tasty, hot and we didn't have to wait an age...for it either. The toilets were spotless which is always an important one for me. If every we're anywhere near there again I'll make it my business to go back. The people of Castledermot are lucky to have this little gem on their doorstep. Well doneMore

Found this cafe by chance in Castledermot. Innovative food with friendly staff and great service. The Mad Hatter is a real gem. I will be back.
