Thank you so much for your kind comment. I appreciate your taking the time to write and your kind words.
4 out of 5, 9th of Athy's restaurants ? These numbers are tterly, gloriously off - this is one of the best Chinese meals I have ever had (and I've eaten them all over the world, including in China). Staff more than helpful, but not...pushy - food was just divine. And reasonably priced. We WILL be back.More

We appreciate your good review so much! We are delighted that you enjoyed the food and was pleased with everything. We hope to see you soon again, thanks a million. Regards Royal Garden
Midweek, we stumbled upon the Royal Garden. The meals are well prepared and delicious, and the service was great. They really hit the spot after a day’s travelling.
Went there on Saturday night. The place was not busy & by the time I left (just after 10.00) I was the only one there! Having read the various reviews, in my opinion the restaurant is over rated. Many would consider my opinion ‘elitist’ but...here is my take; 1) I am always wary of a restaurant that also does takeaway. This restaurant confirmed my view. 2) the menu is extensive- so I always get a feeling of ‘jack of all trades’. This is exactly how I would describe this restaurant. 3) when the first 2 table you see eating ‘curry & chips’ this is not going to be authentic Chinese!! Having dined many times in China town in London I do not know how anyone could possibly compare Athy Chinese to London China Town. An unfair & unrealistic comparison. That said, the food was reasonable good. Crispy duck was plentiful & cooked very well. House special chow meng can only be described as what you would expect from a half decent takeaway. Plenty of it, piping (micro wave) hot but tasteless with particularly rubbery chicken. Add a bottle of white plonk & I was only set back €55. In fairness, I asked for a second coffee & asked for another ‘mint’ & was quickly provided with one along with half dozen mints. Coffee is from ‘brew’ ie not individually made shots. No complaints whatsoever re service. It was polite, not overly friendly, & efficient. This restaurant would fall into my category or somewhere I would go to finish off a night after a few beers - not a ‘destination’ restaurant by any means. Reasonable food at reasonable price sums it up for me.More
Came in for dinner last night with the family, we all walked in starving and left full and very happy! Cant fault the place the food was devine, very good price and the staff were very friendly and helpful! If we are ever passing thru...athy again we will definitely return.More
I love this restaurant as food is always a high standard. Good price and quick service. Staff very friendly. lovely for going out for meal. I would recommend.
We visited on 28th December 3 course meal for 18€ excellent value. Al a carte available also, lots of choice. Poor explanations on the menu of the content of the dishes. Food we had was really good particularly the main courses, ice cream and the...Chinese tea.More
When staying in Athy we always visit the Royal Garden. The menu is great and there's something for everyone and the food is always fresh and full of flavour! The service is great and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The set menus are amazing...value and the portion sizes are huge! It also has a great take away service with no compromise on food quality or portion sizes. We found the 'Dinner for Two' take out could easily feed four!! Great place to visit!More
Definitely one of my favourite takeaways! The food always tastes great and the delivery is fast 😊 can't wait to order again!
The Royal Garden is one of our favourite restaurants, they never disappoint. Food is always full of flavour and presentation excellent. The service always friendly and attentive. They offer a special menu during the week with a choice of as many starters and Mains as...you would like and serve a lovely selection of wines. The restaurant itself is cosy and has a nice, relaxed atmosphere for an enjoyable evenings dining.More
Visited the Royal Garden Restaurant on Monday evening. Food excellent, had starter Vegetarian Spring Rolls, Main Course Beef & Green Pepper & Black Bean sauce, Ice Cream & Coffee. Everything was excellent, including service. Great value for money. Will certainly be returning.
A party of 6 of us went to this consistently good restaurant last Friday (10th June) evening. 2 of the party visiting from London declared that it would be hard to find such good value even in the Chinatown of their city! What was so...good about it? First of all the rice was of excellent texture and taste. Never had better fried rice anywhere! Various dishes were chosen and the empty plates when finished gives better evidence of the quality than my words. My duck Cantonese was crisp and tasty. Obviously good ingredients were used in everything. This is not always the case in Chinese restaurants. The excellent service came with charm and smiles.More
I have to say, this was one of the nicest Chinese restaurants I have eaten at in a long time! The curry was amazing. I would recommend the salt & chili chicken to anyone, very tasty also.
While there is a restaurant we decided to go for a take away. Food portion were good and keenly priced. Food quality was mixed, and while we were charged for prawn crackers we noticed when we got home they were missing. We live a long...drive from restaurant so wasn't worth going back. Yuk sung is made of chicken, instead of the usual pork, I didn't like this dish, but their crispy duck with black bean sauce was lovely. Both of my partners dishes were nice. This was a busy restaurant and take away, which is always a good sign and service was quicl, maybe this is why some of the order we paid for was missing.More
