Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We haven't been here in over a year, thanks Covid. It's so good to come back and nothing skipped a beat. We put our name in to sit outside on the deck to have the ocean view and l Iow and behold Milan was our...server. We haven't seen him since precovid. He is still a amazing ad ever. I watched him multitasking and deal with customer issues and not miss a beat. I'm so thankful for the great service consistently and I'm thankful Millan is still a staples in this establishment . He remembered us from 2 years ago like it was just yesterday. He's the best as well as everyone else . Can't wait to come back and see Milan.More

I know this is a late review, but I stumbled across this on TA. I forgot to review back in May, 2017. We were staying at the Garvey Farmhouse (excellent!!) and Mrs. Garvey recommended this place and it was fantastic. We had the smoke herring...salad, mussels, fresh lobster and a fish dish. I love the fact that they have the names and location of the fishermen that caught the seafood on a board, and had a great beer from West Kerry Brewery.More

Oysters Rockefeller as a starter. Very nicely made. My wife had the traditional lobster and she really liked it. Very plentiful lobster. I had the whole belly clams. Very good although I do love the huge bellies of which here these were not but still...good. No one has the huge bellies anymore for some reason. Anyway, a nice place and Grace was a great server.More

Great time here last year when we were down. Was a great lad running the bar. A proper mine host. In briefly this year, new bar staff were tired and uninterested. What a shame. Will look in at Easter but don't hold out much hope.

Dined here whilst staying at the Peninsula Hotel (FAB STAY ONCE AGAIN) was not that hungry so just had a Cajun chicken salad. It was the best I have tasted in years, really spicy and flavoursome accompanied by yummy salad. I don't know if the...restaurant is responsible for the hotel breakfast, but have to say it was exceptionally good.More

We had eaten at the skipper restaurant several times when in was in the village and really enjoyed it while in dingle in August we missed it and only realised on our last day where it had moved to so on our visit last weekend...we decided we must eat there. Firstly the bar/restaurant was so dimly lit up I had to take out my phone torch to read the menu board starters were mainly a salad of one type or other, chowder and chicken wings, which I ordered they were tough as old boots and not the freshest, the chowder was fine and the salad were just salad really with a bit of mackreal on top!!for mains I had the hake with beurre blanc after a considerable wait out came a plate with a few roasted veg a child's portion really and my fish smothered in this awful creamy sauce tasting of nothing! I was embarrassed as we had recommended this restaurant to our friends we also ordered the lobster now at 30€ a half kg we were told it was 1 kg in weight we expected it to be presented a bit better than on a plate with a few roasted veg and a leaf of lettuce! And melted butter in a side dish at this point all agreed that it was definately nothing as nice or tasty as the old skipper. We didn't even wait for coffees or desserts and honestly the staff didn't seem to care whether we were satisfied or not.More

We loved this restaurant when it was at Ventry but it has now moved to the Dingle Peninsula hotel. The food is just as good - fantastic fish and also non fish dishes. Much cheaper than equivalent restaurants in Single and well worth the trip...to the wonderful coast. Unfortunately no coastal views from the restaurant bit fabulous sceneray all around.More

This is a great pub and restaurant. It's in an attractive location with ample parking. It is lovely inside with a warm welcome. Specialising in seafood the menu was varied and the dishes thoroughly enjoyed by all. The service was excellent and friendly which is...a real selling point. Definitely worth eating here.More

We had lunch in the skipper. Staff super friendly, food really tasty. We choose 2 course set menu. Brie and the chowder was delicious, duck and chicken Kiev also. Kids chicken wings - perfect. Not burned, soft and tasty, very big portion, it would do...adults starter. Our daughter loved it. We are definitely coming back for another meal 🍴.More

Just to correct a review lower down (Failed business), this restaurant is very much alive and kicking and has simply moved premises to the Dingle Peninsula Hotel. It is also now extremely popular and booking is probably advised in high season. The staff are very...good. Warm but efficient and greet you with a smile. And the restaurant area has good space for each table. You certainly don't feel crammed in. My wife and I shared an impossibly large portion of chicken wings to start. They were delicious, but the size of small chicken legs! For mains my wife had the hake and I had the ray wing. It is clear that the chef really knows how to cook fish. Ray wing can be easily dried out or over gelatinous. But this was perfect and a generous portion. The caper sauce wasn't overpowering. My wife's hake was succulent and flakey. Perfect. Bravo! We accompanied the meal with a lovely, crisp, southern French rose wine. We'd certainly go again. Highly recommended.More

We had an early bird dinner here for family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Menu was really good value with something of interest to all. Food and service were both top class, wonderful fish dishes and desserts. Great to see a place offering top quality...food and service, at a very reasonable price. Very enjoyable experience. Wish them every success with. Later discovered this restaurant was located in Ventry last year, We had heard great things about it from friends, Highly recommend a visit.More
