We called in to O'Dowd's on the off chance, when visiting Ireland on HoIiday with my parents. We did not have a reservation but the staff found room for us. My parents had fantastic seafood, lobster, crab, mussels whilst my husband and I had seaweed hummus, seafood chowder and pan fried fish and chips. All cooked well and highly recommended.

After a nice hike up Diamond Hill, I drove down to Roundstone - picking up the R341, which is a very nice drive - with the sole intention of having a pint and a bowl of seafood chowder per the recommendation of my B&B host. Lived up to all expectations and I am already thinking of returning tomorrow despite the... More

We had lunch at O'Dowd's while visiting Roundstone. The crab salad was delicious. The waitress who served us was friendly and efficient.

Had a family evening meal here recently. Oysters delicious. Crab claws excellent. Salad, chips, Shepherd's pie all OK. Beef in Guinness stew, tasty, but a bit small. Desert of fruit crumble was tasty, but again a bit small. We all eat like pigs in our family......so need big portions!! Service fast and friendly. Beautiful view over the harbour. I counted... The mains were ok and the desserts were nice, but nothing extraordinary as we expected from the reviews.

Just the most picturesque place in the west of Ireland to stop off and enjoy a plate of crab claws, some home baked brown scones washed down with a pint of Guinness . Heaven on earth.

I've been to this restaurant many times over the years. I feel this time the standard of quality has dropped considerably, this review is of the Bar food. A recent visit with nine people, several who live abroad, this was their overall rating: Chips - cold Sea Bass and other specials - Non existent or none left Fish and chips... More

O'Dowd's, which looked great online was disappointing. The bar area is very small, not as spacious as they make it seem. A very small selection of beers on tap, and the one I wanted they were out of, and they did not seem to care. (We were in Roundstone two weeks). Our impression is they are much more focused on...
