When they say "we welcome dogs", they mean it. We brought our dog in & received a warm welcome, & were not banished to a faraway corner(like other establishments). The food was great & the people lovely.

I had a breaded fish and my partner breaded chicken. Both delicious. The lady in the restaurant was very welcoming and nice.

We were staying at Maureen Cookes Sea-Side bed and breakfast and decided to have dinner at Tigh Mheaic. What a great place ! We were greeted and seated in seconds and ordered drinks - a lovely pint of Guinness and a G&T. We went straight...to mains - we could not pass the local lamb which was served with a selection of fresh vegetables. The whole meal was superb - the lamb was cooked absolutely to perfection and was prime. This was such a lovely place with many locals in for a drink and a chat As Gaeilge- what a treat to hear that ! Highly recommended.More

This place is fabulous, we had so many great meals here last yea r during a two week stay. The good was fabulous and the staff very welcoming. The chef even came out to talk to us! We made special requests that were accomodated. Even...a simple roast chicken breast was fabulous due to the quality of the food & skilled kitchen staff! My sister, her husband, my husband a nd I all agreed this place is a gem.More

We were told they had good food so we came to try it after a long day of driving from Dublin Airport and I can honestly say that I may have had the freshest best tasting scallops I’ve ever had. 👍👍👍

We booked a table for 6 in this pub/restaurant for my birthday for two families, the whole environment is very unpleasant and feelt dirty and old. Food was just OK and overpriced, portion of chicken wings for a starter (about 6 wings) €8.5 per portion,...did not get a sauce or somewhere to wash our fingers. The waiter forgot my main course and by the time I got it the lamb was cold. Wouldn't recommend this pub and wouldn't go back.More

We ate at family friendly Tigh Mheaic three times in three days. The lamb and the fish chowder were even better than I remembered. Traveling with a small child, we were glad to have so much space for him to set up his toy knights...on the table. The staff treated us like family. It's a great local pub yet very accustomed to international visitors.More

They hosted us for an 18th birthday party with family and it was wonderful. The food was great and the selection of drinks is wonderful for a small town bar. It wasnt too expensive and the workers are very kind. Worth a try if you...are staying in Carna or the nearby.More
