We had a family reunion planned and booked the Windmill by phone, we thought. On arrival, on a busy Saturday night, we were told they had no record of our booking. I don’t know why this happened but the waitress was calm and efficient, and...finally found us a table for seven, no easy task in a fully booked restaurant. Food was top notch and everyone enjoyed their choice, especially the Scampi and the steaks. Full marks for finding us a table and we all enjoyed the meal, with plenty of laughs.More

Located near the centre of town, the Windmill Restaurant is good value for money and a cosy environment. Opportunity to relax in bar area before and after, if required.

I booked for dinner for 3 people on Friday 9th of August for 9pm, (the only booking we could get) we got there at 9.05pm to be told that we were to late and the restaurant was closed. There was no one in the restaurant!!!...Why??? Why did they not call if they thought I was running late??? I booked this on Tuesday as I had friends coming from GB and I was boasting about this restaurant. Imagine my embarrassment!!! Phoned the restaurant today and got a very rude girl telling me it was all my fault as I did not turn up at 8.30pm, even though I had it booked for 9pm!!! If my booking was at 8.30pm? why did they not ring me? to see where I was!!More

My in laws live on New Street and suggested we try this restaurant for our Sunday afternoon get together. Including my in laws we were a party of seven. We had originally booked for 4.30 but were delayed and the restaurant still accommodated us with...no trouble which was really appreciated. We were greeted by our friendly hostess and seated at a lovely mahogany table in the centre of the room. The decor is stylish but also very comfortable. We decided to eat from the set menu which was a reasonable €22.95 for three courses. My in laws had the sweet potato soup which was really nice, my husband and my eldest son had the chicken wings which were a generous portion and my son raved about how good they tasted. The rest of us enjoyed the garlic bread.. We had a few pints of Guinness which was also very good. The children's menu had plenty of variety and my son had a garlic bread followed by sausage and chips, these were a generous portion of cocktail sausages and Callum gobbled them up. I had the 8oz rib eye steak which was well presented and cooked perfectly to order. The boys enjoyed the chicken burger and the beef burgers which were huge.. We had chocolate fondant pudding for dessert which was served with mint ice cream.. this was really good and tasted like After Eights.. I think it's fair to say that the food and service were excellent and that we all enjoyed our visit.More

Love how you have the opportunity to order from their menu or the pubs next door. Sat by the fire and enjoyed a wonderful meal. We had excellent service and a great time

We visited the Windmill on a Sunday about 6 pm. We were the only customers, although before we left another 6 came in. The old crew had the early bird available until 7 pm but now it’s 4. I could see why it was changed...if the place was busy but it was an important weekend for Skerries. The young lady, who was excellent, said it was the heat that caused low numbers. I don’t know but suspect it was busy up to 4 pm I don’t mind the price but felt there was better choices on the set menu. The a la carte wasn’t great. Although the food we got was excellent. We have gone a lot there in the past but the menu hadn’t changed often enough so we stopped. But we will be back Overall very goodMore

We have a lovely meal in the Windmill restaurant on New Street in Skerries on a quiet Friday night. We tried the early bird menu and the food was excellent and very good value. Rib eye steak and chicken dishes were excellent.

We booked well in advance as we chose this restaurant for my sisters 50th Birthday. The team were very accommodating and took great care of our group. Food was delightful and as we had made many special requests I wanted to thank the chef for...ensuring that all where executed and overall most enjoyable. Thank you.More

My husband and I had dinner in The Windmill last weekend, when we arrived the manager (I'm guessing?) wasn't very friendly, just pointed to our table and said "you're sitting over there on the corner table". Not being shown to the table was a bit...odd and a bit cafe like. There were no menus on the table and they took a while to arrive. They were sitting closed on the table for a good ten minutes before our order was taken - the restaurant wasn't even half full at this stage - even though we had ordered drinks separately, no food order was asked for. When I ordered I was told the item I wanted had just run out (at 7pm on a Saturday night?) which was disappointing and we should have been informed of this before we started to order. The food was nice but nothing "wow", the steaks were perfectly cooked. The service was just so so slow, finished plates left on the table for ages even though all servers walked past out table multiple times, and just quite unprofessional if I'm honest, a far cry from our last visit to this restaurant, but I believe it is under new management. I felt bad not leaving a tip, but really to get one, the servers need to up their game.More
