So we attempted to eat in this restaurant but they gave our table away! There is no sign to advice wait at the door to be seated so we hovered with others on the footpath. We then went in looking for someone to ask for...our table only to be told it was given away as we were late, at this stage we weren’t even late. The lady we spoke to was extremely unhelpful and rude.More

I, along with my partner dined over a week ago on a week night. The terrace was lovely and inviting with the sound of the nearby stream to be heard. I ordered the duck (priced €23 and my partner the superfood salad (large was over...€10.) I felt quite disappointed with the duck. It was very dry, leathery and overcooked. The Superfood salad was very ordinary and lifeless. I expected a lot more value for the prices charged. Like other reviews that I've read since, this restaurant needs to seiously up it's game if the prices charged are to be justified. FinbarrMore

The starters were outstanding with wonderful presentation but unfortunately the mains really and truly let the meal down. Such a shame because this place has so much potential. PLEASE! WE NEED GOOD FOOD IN LUCAN! 🍴Starters: Salt and Chili Calimari Friti - Simple but tasty,...calamari perfectly cooked and batter light and crispy, a bit too much garlic aioli for my liking. Good presentation and nice portion size. 7/10 🍴Mains: Trio of Duck, overpriced and disappointing, fat was wet and gooey, duck tough and overcooked, sauce tasted fresh out of a sweet chili sauce bottle, rice stodgy and bland. Presentation was good. 5/10 🍴Experience: Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Warm and welcome atmosphere. Traditional décor. 7/10 Overall: 6/10More

Good service. More pub grub than restaurant food. Fish and chips was delightful . Fresh cod in the lightest of batter. Recommended.

If you don't like spice or have children this probably isn't the place for you. I asked for garlic prawns and rice for my 8 year old and specifically requested there not to be any chili or spice. When it came the rice would have...been too spicy even for an adult. When I asked why the rice was spicy I was told the above by the waitress 🤦More

We’ve visited Reeds a lot over the years and have always had an excellent meal & experience. I booked very last minute for 4 people for my mother’s birthday and Aisling managed to find us a table! (Thank you!) Great night, fab food, excellent service,...Ciarán as always very attentive, and even a little chat with Hugh, the owner, who made sure every one was ok!! Lovely treat for my mam as well, cake brought out for her birthday. Felt very safe, staff all wore masks and there was plenty of space between us and the tables around us. Looking forwards to returning soon. Thank you for a lovely evening.More

Have been here a few times and here were 17 of us here for a family meal last Saturday to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. Ciaran couldn't look after us enough. He was so professional and helpful. First name terms with everyone! There were a...few coeliacs in our party and he advised them what they could have etc. He was great with the kids too and even had a little helper giving out the birthday cake 🙂 I would thoroughly recommend Reeds on the River. We had a great night!More

Yes they have gluten free options and I'm not sure if you can pop in for a coffee. The restaurant is fancy but they have a pub downstairs that you might be able to do that in.
