If you like sushi, and you don't want to spend a lot, this place is the best option! The sushi actually tastes quite decent, and there is a variety of them. It's my favorite place to eat in Knoxville, and I go there often. I...More

For a price of about $11 per diner Makinos is a bargain buffet. Surprisingly, the food is mostly good and tasty, though it’s not gourmet. But a top level sushi place is going to be expensive and Makinos is not. The selection is very large...More

Makinos has so much good food. I really enjoyed the sushi bar and all the variety. They offer all kinds of sweets too. Come hungry and you will leave really full.

I was taken here by some friends. There was 9 of us. The selection of Sushi is amazing and it all tasted great. I ate way too much and regretted the rice bloating later that night. I also ordered fresh fish. The guy cooking it...More

I stumbled on Makino during their grand opening over a decade ago and I was floored at how good the sushi was. Not going to detail that or the other entrees. Have to say that in all the times I have gone up to Knoxville,...More

I went to a private party at this place (the backroom can be reserved) and enjoyed ordering some sushi appetizers from a checklist to start. All was great until everyone in my party headed for the buffet line to join the other restaurant guests in...More

I have not been a big fan of Asian buffets historically, but we decided to give Makino a try. It was Saturday lunch, and there was a good crowd, so that helped the food turn over quickly and keep fresh. I had soup for starters,...More

I'm usually not impressed with any buffet especially in the sushi category. This was the best sushi I've had since leaving California 25 years ago. The rice was still warm from the sushi chefs hand and the fish was ice cold. Generous portions of salmon,...More

Only buffet I care to eat at, because it is clean and up to standards. My family enjoys going, especially on their birthdays. Yummy. God is good.

You can order sashimi. Their sushi buffet is what they are known for. Very fresh. Sushi at dinner is served to order so it's even better.
