Went there with family and friends after my son's funeral. Service and food was excellent. This is not a fast food restaurant. Almost everything is made to order. But well worth waiting for. After a torturous day, it was great to casually relax and enjoy...a good meal.More
I stopped here for a quick little lunch. All I ordered was one little sandwich and iced tea. I ended up with enough food for dinner. The fish sandwich was huge considering the $3.49 price. And it was prepared perfectly. Delicious. It came with enough...lettuce and tomato with dressing to make a salad that filled half the plate. And the tea was obviously homemade and delicious too. I am a fan.More
Clean kinda down south feel.
All the staff had lots of smiles.
Waitress was efficient and attentive.
Chicken n dumplings above average with lots of white chicken.
Prime rib was average cut, quality but tasty.
Ribs were ok..not smoked however and the sauce was a...little to sweet.
Salads were fresh, dressings were good.
Deserts were pre packaged but a decent quality and tasted pretty good.
Place is clean, well lit and plenty of space.
We would not hesitate to stop in again.More
The service was bad and the food was cold and very poor quality. Everything we got was prepackaged frozen and served. One of our friends that was with us was served French fries that were still partially frozen. We had chicken strips. They were about...a quarter of an inch thick at their thickest. We had a group of about 30 and they tried serving all of us at the same time instead of bring the food out as it was prepared. THIS IS NOT A PLACE I WOULD RECOMMEND.More
We took an afternoon, after a very stressful couple of weeks, to just ride through the fall foilage in East Tenn & SW Va. We ended up headed for home on Highway 11W just west of Church Hill and we were hungry by this time...and decided to stop at this little roadside place. It doesn't look like much from the outside and the inside is simple and basic, no frills. The food, though, was great. The waitress was as sweet as could be and the service was good. We both had fried chicken and country vegeatables along with a baked potato. All very good. Lots of locals were stopping by either to eat in or carry out. Good, simple, country cooking in a friendly environment.More
