We arrived on a Saturday without a reservation but were able to be seated at the bar, where we were well attended to. Enjoyed the duck and some cocktails and wine. Wish we'd had room for the huckleberry hand pie!

They know how to treat their customers. The food is excellent and the desire is very nice. Great for the holidays or a family get together.

For my husband and I, St. John's is our hometown, go-to restaurant, whenever you want to dress up fancy, and celebrate an occasion: an anniversary, a friend's birthday, or to "wow" an interviewing potential work colleague. We have dined here often and the atmosphere, food,...More

Had the chicken- absolutely superb and filet was cooked perfectly. Even with having reservation we had to wait 20 minutes then another 30 for food after we ordered. Butter for bread was also delicious

We went to the restaurant for my Mother in Law's 90th Birthday. They were sweet and treated her to a dessert and she was so thrilled (it had a candle it in!). The food was great, the crab appetizer with pimento was the best I...More

The farm to table movement is the best thing that could happen to American food. St. John's is doing this with just enough experimentation to make a meal fabulous. The pimento cheese appetizer was perfect way to ease into the meal. And when another table...More

Great service, good food, and pleasant but not opulent decor. Haute cuisine might describe it and prices very high. Good for a special occasion.

Forgot the most important part of my answer - the owner came by and introduced himself . He seems especially nice. Bet if you contact him in advance, he will help you plan a special evening!
Do I need a reservation for the more casual side, for Saturday night Oct. 17? Party of two.

When in doubt, I would just call them and ask, but I would make a reservation. Even IF it's usually unnessary, you never know what large group might walk in and fill up the table you would have had.😉 Our dinner was a good... More
