My wife and I went to Terra Mae recently for dinner while on vacation in area. The restaurant is in boutique hotel in downtown. They seated us in weird booth where we had to sit next to each other which is not ideal for conversation. The server came up fast to go over menu and get our drink order. She... More

Very kind serving staff. Good coffee. Best omelette I've ever had in my life. Atmosphere made you feel like you were in an upscale cafe in Paris, France.

Great service, great food, wonderful ambiance. You will feel like you are in Hollywood in the 1950s or 1960s. Frank Sinatra and Edith Piaf singing in the background! A very romantic hotel, even though I was there on business.

Terra Mae is the restaurant in the Dwell Hotel in downtown Chattanooga. It's lobby, restaurant and bar are beautifully decorated in mid century style. There were many interesting menu choices. We had some small plates and the osso buco with lamb shanks. All the dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. Prices were reasonable for such a creative menu and attractive... More

Wow! What a change !!! I visited and reviewed this place last year when under different ownership I was fair in the review and it basically said don't go! THINGS HAVE CHANGED!! New owners have turned this place around and after dining there last Friday, I walked out saying it was one of my top Chattanooga picks now. We sat... More

A wonderful restaurant for dinner, Terra Mae is even better for brunch. The funky "50's" decor is a great backdrop to the creative and delicious brunch fare. Lacey is an experienced and delightful server and will treat you royally. You can't go wrong choosing Terra Mae.

Amazing atmosphere that would rival any large city. Knowledgeable wait staff, excellent wine selection, and wonderful blend of flavors. Eric provided an honest assessment of the meals and was accurate with his depicting of flavors. We will be back!

Chose it on a whim. Visiting from out of town on a business and was looking for a nice meal and a cocktail. The meal was fabulous, the food creative and the craft cocktail outstanding. Best of all though was the panna cotta desert. I'm a sucker for this as it's my favorite and honestly, this is the entire reason... More

The flavors were excellent, and dishes were very creative. A bit pricey, and we left hungry, but opted for dessert elsewhere. Service was also excellent.

It starts with the freshest local ingredients from nearby farms, transformed by Chef Shelly D. Cooper into dishes that are both familiar and brand new. This isn't the high Southern cooking you might see in movies like The Help. This isn't low country cooking. It's inspired by the local fare eaten in the Southern Appalachians for centuries, a cuisine born from a deep love of the land. From steaks to scallops, from chowchow to country ham, from barbecue duck to biscuits, from hills and hollers to the coast, TerraMae's menus are firmly rooted in regional traditions with a contemporary twist. Some of our ingredients are unexpected to those who have forgotten or never experienced the practical magic of Appalachian foodways. Whether you come for dinner, lunch, or brunch, you're sure to rediscover the delight of truly local food. TerraMae is a perfect location for large groups and private dining experiences.
